Your kidding right. Who would these guys complain about other than bush to get them some attention. Both of those sound like questions although they do not end in question marks. By the way a question mark looks like this? and is the upper case of the / key. No I was not kidding. I don't joke about politics. Who would they complain about other than Bush? Hopefully a Democratic president if he weren't doing much of a job of things. Social critics should ideally be nonpartisan and willing to criticize both sides. I do realize that the entertainment industry as a whole leans left and in particular the politically-aware segment of the punk rock scene, so there is unlikely to be a lot of criticism of the left from it. On the other hand it is not unheard of. The Dead Kennedies song "California Uber Alles" is about former governor Jerry Brown, who I would have to look up, but I'm pretty sure that he was not a Republican. The song does not paint a flattering picture of him.

If these guys wrote things about Kerry would anyone one care, no. So they write about President Bush and sell to the "I hate America crowd."

Interesting how any criticism of Bush automatically means that a person hate's America. Since when did Bush come to stand for America?

Let's see, what is President Bush, president of? Chile. This may be hard for some to understand. But the President is the leader of the United States of America.
It's not Bush all the time, it's republicans and success.
The left hates success. It goes against their socalistic dogma.
(Whinning socialist) "Your doing better than me. I'm going to make the government take things away from you."
The one thing that holds true for the left is they hate success. No matter where you go who you meet this holds true. President Bush is successful so people on the left hate him. (No I'm not going to do your research for you Hussar) America is successful and free so terrorist and those who support them, in all walks of life, hate America.
We are trying to impose our way of life on others. Yes I can see that Freedom is a terrible thing isn't it.

*wipes the tear from his eye*
Thanks Gal. I haven't read anything that funny in a long, long time.
Gal, if you think that people hate America because it's successful, then why aren't Japan and other G7 nations being targetted by terrorism? Granted, none have as large of a GNP as America, that's true, but, then again, all G7 nations have a standard of living that's pretty comparable to America.
So, if people are attacking America because they are jealous of success, why have other successful nations not been attacked?
Could it possibly be that America got attacked because it spent most of the last three decades playing silly buggers in other people's back yards and then never cleaned up their own mess? I know some people like to forget who trained Bin Laden and who supported Hussein into power, but, those of us who actually read history once in a while know different.
You reap what you sow.

Leader yes, God on Earth and embodiment of all that is right and good, no.
Let me get this straight: you never called Bill Clinton Slick Willy during his entire eight-year term and objected as strenuously to unfair media portrayals of Clinton as you would to the version of Bush that is painted by something like the short-lived Comedy Central sit-com That's My Bush?
He was just as much president then, as Shrubby II currently is (possibly moreso, but that is another rant for another time).
Or is there a double standard at work here?
You may be patriotic while ceaselessly chanting: I hope they nail that lying Slick Willy, during the entire Clinton impeachment process, but I am an America-hater for wearing a button that reads: Impeach Bush. No one died when Clinton lied.
Is that the case?

HOLY smokes!!!! I felt the heat of anger in that last post! That's the trouble with message boards. I meant to be entirely calm and reasonable and post something well thought out. Unfortunately, you can't hear it in my tone of voice here.

.......and what were all those little wars in places that used to be Czechoslovakia and..... I know it was just an error of geography, but I thought I'd point something out, since I've been studying czech politics and history for the last 5 years. The Czech Republic had nothing to do with the war/genocides in the balkans, or the bloody history between the Albanians, Croatians, and Serbians. The Czech Republic (or Slovakia for that matter) are not contained in the same geographic group. In fact, the Czech Republic is known for the (only?) bloodless revolution in 1989, when communism was overthrown without violence. Led by men of ideals such as Vaclav Havel (an accomplished playwright, who was imprisoned as a dissident during the communist regime) the country set a positive example to the rest of the world. I hate to generalize a whole group of people, but czechs tend to be level headed, and not given to mindless violence. Anyway, I know that wasn't the point of your post Khyron, I just wanted to set the record straight! I'll sit back now and let everyone go back to butting heads with Galadon.....

I must have meant the places that used to be Yugoslavia. I get those small Eastern European countries that used to be part of the Communist Bloc and have names ending in "ia" confused with each other. Sorry. Geography was never a strong subject for me. Thanks for the clarification. I also went back and corrected my mis-statement by deleting the reference to Czechoslovakia. Hey Galadon, Ever notice that nice button that says modify? Why don't you use it once in a while to correct at least your typos? I have a lot more respect for a correctly-spelled opposition.
