The Monkees were never as popular as the beatles but they were good. The Beatles were the most popular band in the UK when they were established - its hard not to like them. Thank you for giving me a bit of info about Monkees, it's a pity that I never listened to their songs, but I still have a chance to find something of theirs, right? As about Beatles, I know that they were very popular once, that's why I was so surprised, when I came upon this thread and didn't saw Beatles upon anybody's favorite bands. But it is clear now, that there are a lot of Beatles fans at this forum, and I am pleased to know that.

the Monkees had a tv show that was played on Trouble - i think it still might be but that in th UK i don't know about elsewhere. They weren't a serious as the beatles and messed about alot.
IMHO(hee hee)- The Beatles were a very good band who made music history, but times change and so do poeple's tastes in music.

You say, that you have a high opinion about my intelligence, but still, you don't think my intelligence is high enough to understand your joke, eh? Now, beat it! ;D P.S.I am not offended, I am just joking, so there is no real need to say sorry again!

I was a Led Zeppelin freak. Still am. Along with Pink Floyd, Steely Dan, Tangerine Dream, Yes... My favorite song of all is by LZ, " When the levee breaks. " It was redone by a rap band in 1998 I believe and It sounded great. I never was a Beatles fan. My favorite song by them is, " Back in the USSR. " Anyone remember the Ventures? I was born and raised and lived most of my life by the ocean. They were very big if you lived by the ocean!
