My Grandmother's Homemade Cream Corn
6 ears of white or yellow corn (white is better) 2 cans of cream 2 cans of milk 1 cup corn starch and water 2 sticks of margarine (my grandmother preferred "Land O Lakes") 1/4 t. Salt 1/4 t. Pepper Sugar to sweeten to your taste
Cut corn off of cob and scrape cob. Add cream, milk, and margarine. Cook until margarine melts and then add sugar to sweeten to your taste (more or less depending on how sweet you like). Cook on low heat for 25 minutes (low boil) and stir often. Then add water to corn starch and pour in hot mixture on stove to thicken. Add salt and pepper to your taste. I add a fourth of each to mine and it tastes fine, but everyone is different as to how they like their food to taste. Enjoy!!
OW.........I LOVE that recipe you gave and so did everyone at that picnic I went to.......... Thanks SO much for it!!!
