1 cup maple sugar 1/2 cup water 1 teaspoon vinagar(I prefer cider, a friend likes redwine) 4 tablespoons butter(margarin doesn't work well)
Boil together the maplesugar,water,and vinagar to the stiff-ball stage(246° F). Then add butter and cook to the medium-crack stage(280° F). Turn into a well buttered pan. Mark while still warm, and when cold break into pieces.

You are very much welcome, the book I get my recepies from is copy righted 1942 for the most recient printing.
