Could be tricky. My battletech stuff went bye bye a long time ago. I dunno if you've used Open though. It's great, built in grid battle map and dice rollers.
Time, of course is prolly the biggest hurdle. Most of the info for the game, we can get ahold of from the web.
And, you are going to pay for the baboon shot. I r not a baboon. I r gorilla.

We really should make a concerted effort to get a Battletech game going though. Maybe something on the GM's board to see if anyone wants to play.

It's been a really long time since I played, so refresh my memory, what's lvl 2 clantech?
Really, I stopped playing before the Clanner invasion. At least, I stopped playing tabletop. I did play the CCG for quite a while (I really thought it was a well done card game) so I have a general idea what the mechs are capable of.
What we could do, is run this over OpenRPG with someone (not me) writing up a node for the charts. Spread the node out and we can all use it.

Level 1 tech: The basic technology described in the BattleTech core rules (all the I.S. stuff)
Level 2 tech: The advanced technology described first in the 3050 tech readout and then adopted in BattleTech Master Rules. This is what is used in most tourneys.
Level 3 tech: Mostly fanmade sutff, although some of the weapons in the new MechWarrior games probably qualifies as well.
