Turanis noded and extended his hand in friendship, "May the Powers Arcane protect you, brother." He pulled out the tome of the Darkness Flame and climbed onto his Magna-Shield Guardian's shoulder, motioning for Rikkon to do the same. As he waited for Rikkon to mount he opened the book and returned to his studies, mentally telling his Guardian to walk outside when Rikkon had mounted.

Rikkon looked at Turanis' Magna-Shield Guardian for a long moment, then said "I hope, that I will not offend you, Archmage Turanis Altaine, if I will say, that I would rather prefer to walk?"

Turanis looked up from his book with an eyebrow quirked, "No Offense taken, I just thought you might prefer to ride. But no matter, Xaero walk outside if you will." A low grating voice acknowledge his command as the Guardian began walking outside. Turanis just smiled and returned to reading his Tome.

Rikkon simply nodded and followed Turanis and his Magna-Shield Guardian...

Soon Turanis, Xaero, Rikkon and Val walked outside the Rary's tower, where they met with Ramishi, Jabar and Jabar's men.

"You know what are you supposed to do, don't you?" asked Rikkon, facing Jabar.

"I know, and I don't like it." replied Jabar, sounding rather gloomy.

"You are not supposed to like it, you are supposed to do it." said Rikkon sharply.

"I know that as well." said Jabar, sounding even more gloomy "I and my men are ready at any time you wish, Lord Rikkon."

Rikkon mounted one of the empty camels, displaying some skill, turned to Turanis and said "If you are ready, Archmage Turanis Altaine, we better be off as soon as possible. Sooner go, sooner come, you know."

Turanis looked up from his tome and smiled, "Lead on..." Turanis went back to his Tome, silently telling his Magna Guardin to follow them.

And so Turanis, Turanis’ shield guardian, Rikkon, Rikkon’s bodyguard Val, Ramishi, Jabar and Jabar’s men went to southeast, where the ancient, mysterious and clearly dangerous Necropolis is supposed to be located…

They traveled for about a month, occasionally hunting for food and refilling their water supplies in oasis they were passing by, and their travels were peaceful enough; apparently, the Bright Desert’s inhabitants saw the towering figure of Turanis’ shield guardian from some distance, and recognized the party as the party with Rary’s emissary among them, and apparently nobody in the Bright Desert was stupid or powerful enough to throw down a challenge to Rary’s emissary, or so it would seem…

It is also important to mention, that Val easily followed Rikkon’s camel on foot in a fast pace, without appearing to get tired at all, and spent nights in Rikkon’s tent. What happened between them there, Turanis didn’t know, just as he didn’t know what Val really was and/or what kind of magic she had upon herself, because all the possible attempts to detect magic upon Val didn’t gave any results – it appeared that Val didn’t had any magic upon herself at all, or so it would seem…
