The gray elven riders look to each other, then one of them says "Thank you, Galadon the Druid, for it seems you have saved all of us. Whoever this man was, it seemed he would slaughter all of us by himself, if not for your intervention. Our leader, and four more of us have fallen to this man, and now we are going to return back to Riversburg. It is now clear, that whatever is going on at the Jewel River, it is beyond our control."

"Of course" replied gray elven rider "Just give us a few minutes to find and bring back fleeing horses, and collect the bodies of our fallen freinds."
Meanwhile, a dozen gray elven riders dismounted, and half of them went into the woods in search for fleeing horses, and the other half started to collect the bodies and weapons of fallen gray elven riders.

I will have to ask Silvanus for a divination spell to locate the others tomorrow. Galadon said to himself mostly. He keeped busy looking for herbs and roots, while waiting for the elf to finish.

It took gray elves about ten minutes to return with their horses. Afterwards, gray elves loaded the body of their fallen comrades on four of the horses, and one of the gray elves said "Galadon the Druid, please mount, it will be quicker and less exhausting for you this way."

Please address me as Galadon, just simply Galadon. He got up on the horse. Which became more calm than the other horses. Have you met the gray armor creature in battle before?

"No, and I hope I will never meet it in battle again!" replied gray elf "It must have been a servant of Demonic Wizard! I don't doubt it!"

"Just a few more minutes" replied gray elven rider "You would get to blink before... look, here it is!"
Indeed, they approached the Riversburg...

The gates were closed and barred by now, but as soon as Galadon and gray elven riders approached them, the gates were opened. Half-dozen gray elven riders remained behind to take care of the dead, while Galadon and the rest of gray elven riders proceeded through Riversburg. Soon Galadon and the rest of gray elven riders approached a two-storey house, with a small, about four-storey, stone tower at one of its sides...

Near the house Galadon and the rest of gray elven riders were greeted by a well-dressed gray elf. Though he was less then five feet of height, he instantly made an impression of the one being in charge. He didn't made an impression of being especially strong or a skilled fighter though. He didn't wore any armor, unless he hidden it behind his clothes, and his only weapon was a well-made dagger. At his belt he wore a few pouches. He had light green eyes and light gray hair, and didn't seemed to be especially young, althought he didn't looked old either.

At elf's shoulder sat a raven, who looked at Galadon with its tiny black eyes, in which Galadon recognized something like intelligence.

The gray elven riders quickly dismounted and bowed to the well-dressed elf. Afterwards, one of the gray elven riders hastily told the well-dressed elf about thier battle with mysterious gray armored figure, and about how Galadon saved them.

After gray elven rider finished his story, the well-dressed elf noded and said "These are troubling news... Anyway, young warriors, you did your duty well. Now, return to the barracks and have a rest. It indeed seems, that this situation is beyond our control."
