I nearly did the same thing figured it out just in time. Challenger Actually, Challenger, if you didn’t pause to strike at the second undead elf, you would just succeed in your attempt to get closer to the center of the clearing, where the main mass of undead elves is. You wouldn’t handle being surrounded by the undead elves as well as Exile, though…

I ment I very nearly rushed into the middle from the off to help the 'wounded' Challenger

I ment I very nearly rushed into the middle from the off to help the 'wounded' Challenger Oh that! Actually, I thought it was kinda obvious, considering that you fought reanimated gray elves often enough recently.

Indeed. Even I couldn’t help feeling that something was wrong, even though nobody bothered to tell me what we are facing here. But anyway, I wouldn’t likely figure it out sooner then Challenger did, so it would do us little good anyway.

Wasn't thinking straight at the time I guess. But your ooc/ request to make short posts only set off a few warning alarms. Challenger

Wasn't thinking straight at the time I guess. But your ooc/ request to make short posts only set off a few warning alarms. Challenger LOL, you're probably right! Then again, as I said, I expected most people (with notable exception of those who didn't face undead gray elves yet, like Itti-Kessa and members of Ammir's squad) to guess what was really going on when one too many elves appeared to be "still alive". By the way, I can't help feeling that Arcaneye and Exile only "role-played" their failure to recognize the "wounded" elves for what they truly were; though I wouldn't really mind it either way.

Oh, and by the way… Exception from BRO’s Combat Rule #5 You can react to somebody else’s action if:… 3) You react to some quick initial action someone else made, like a short command. Ignoring the hit with a grunt Challenger stepped forwards slashing at throat level into the nearest unengaged Zombie. "Sergent, seven are down, roll call!" he shouted. Ammir probably realised that Challenger wanted to know if any of his soldiers were still alive in the middle of the fight. "Exile get out of there now!". Revesing his blade he slammed the point of his blade into a zombie before attempting to rip it out. "Itti take my right, Myu my left." (/ooc still using the Longsword two handed. If that changes I'll note it.) Challenger In this particular case; Exile is likely to hear Challenger’s shout somewhere during the middle of her actions; not that she needs extra persuasion, I am thinking… *snicker* Myu, who takes time to get to Challenger, can hear his command by the time she begins her attack, and I can assume that she will change her actions according to it. Then again, Challenger's "left" zombie is the one Myu would likely attack anyway: it is closest to her and neither Challenger nor Itti-Kessa stand in the way of her charge. Itti-Kessa, on the other hand, it likely to press attack before hearing Challenger’s command, however, she is already busy with Challenger’s “right” zombie. By the way, Challenger, you have two more zombied elves right in front of you, and more are coming. There are enough zombies for everyone, people! (I am such a generous DM, am I not?)

I was more concerned with keeping the group together. Regardless how good we are individualy against this sort of foe we have a much greater chance of suviving if we stick in a tight formation.

Challenger Remember, since this is a freeform game in which such thing as “hit points” is pretty much non-existent (I refer to them only to judge your overall toughness as well as resistance to certain spells, such as Power Word: Kill), zombies aren’t such easy opponents as they would have been in the rule-regulated game. Actually, as you has experienced yourself, zombies are pretty difficult to kill and their blows are strong enough to cause serious injury. Therefore, keeping in a group is a very good decision indeed.

Should I edit my last post? I must add in my defense, it was Itti_kessa's intent all along to make sure Challenger didn't get overwhelmed, so when he said "Take my right" she was pretty much already in the process, concerned more with that, then her attack on any single foe, given that there are so many.

No, it’s okay, Itti-Kessa. As I said, you were already in the process of fighting Challenger’s “right” zombie by the time his command came, so there is no need to change your post. And… Here's a good look what we're facing out there! …Cool picture, Itti-Kessa! Though the ones you are fighting look a little more… fresh.
