A small smile finds Rill's face as he sees the wizard.
Lord Ashwand, it has been too long. You seemed to have fared well. More than I can say for those idealistic elves battling your forces out there.

”Most definitely, Major Nirenn, most definitely!” The black figure, whom Rill rightly recognized as Leiton Ashwand himself, said; this time Leiton appears to be obviously pleased by Rill’s words, which he apparently took as a compliment.

”There were some minor inconveniences, of course.” Leiton Ashwand continues, now more calmly and in matter-of-facty way for now, although Rill now realized that it is impossible to predict when his emotions will take another change. ”You friend’s army, for example, indeed cost me a small portion of my troops. But it is all unimportant; with reinforcements heading this way even now, I am going to command the largest portion of Our Lord’s army! I will be His mighty fist, and I will conquer this pathetic elves’ kingdom, and present it to Our Lord... He he he…”

Leiton Ashwand goes silent for a moment, then steps closer to Rill, apparently not believing in any threat that could be coming from him, and says, ”As you can see, there is no way your friends can win. And your fate is in my hands as well… But the real question isn’t what I am to do with you, the real question is what YOU are going to do from now on?”

You speak truly, Lord Ashwand, and though you have made correct assessments, I must point out one error of yours. You called those people fighting you out there my "friends". said Rill, stern-faced They are no more my friends than you are Lord Ashwand. I am not in this business to make friends. Like you, I am here to promote a concept and my own realization of it. Though our specific goals may be different, I see no reason why we cannot make our means the same. You ask what I will do. Here is my answer: I am no longer a threat to you. The only thing I am is a potential asset. As such, I offer to you my personal services; whatever I am capable of doing. In return, I ask merely for my fair share in the power that I am helping you to gain. What do you say?

”Ah, your choice is most wise, Major Nirenn, and your service is most welcome! And Our Lord is most generous to those who serve him loyally, believe me, I know!”

As he spoke, Leiton Ashwand move closer to Rill; seemingly unconsciously, though Rill suspects it might be an act. Now Leiton Ashwand is barely few steps outside Rill’s reach.

”Our Lord has been looking forward to your joining our cause, and I am certain, in time you will have all the wealth and power you wish, eventually, maybe a kingdom or even a world of your own. Our Lord plans far, far ahead! Not to mention that someday you are likely to find that we share the same enemies, Major Nirenn, the ones they say you hate the most.”

Leiton Ashwand paused, and then continued ”There is one thing I would like to know, however. Are there any more companions with you? If you truly wish to join our cause, there is no need to hide them from us, especially since we will gladly give your companions a chance to join our cause along with you. In fact, I believe that Sir Gin’Khan happened to save one of your friends… Mmm… Companions from a certain death earlier, am I right?”

”Indeed.” The Glabrezu, whose name was apparently Gin’Khan, replied from behind Rill; judging by the sound of his voice, he remained near the doorway.

Other than a pixie and a female elf, both of whom are of no consequence, there was no one. If you have them here, please, bring them to me, and we can determine what to do with them.

”I believe that the elven woman you mentioned is the same one I saved earlier.” Gin’Khan said from behind Rill. ”She was mortally wounded in attempt to approach General Ashwand’s fortress, but Our Lord saw it fit to help her. She will spend some time recovering, though; the magic used to save her was a powerful one.”

Gin’Khan paused, and then added. ”As about the pixie, I have no idea of her whereabouts.”

”I believe that I will be able to find her, with Major Nirenn’s assistance, of course.” Leiton Ashwand says. ”As for what to do with the pixie… If she can be persuaded to join our cause, no harm will come to her. Now, please follow me, Major Nirenn, we will find your little friend for you.”

With that, Leiton Ashwand turned away from Rill and walked to the jet-black gemstone that hovered in the center of the room, fully exposing himself to Rill’s possible attack, if Rill chooses to attack at all, that’s it.
