Mommy and baby are resting peacefully in the hospital for a few more days.
I gotta admit, I'm a little jealous. You should see this hospital. Private room with fridge, bathroom and queen sized bed and a couch. Morning massage routine with the masseuse, food that you couldn't get in a restaurant cooked specifically for you. Whirlpool, and beauty salon all included. Sheesh, she's gonna be spoiled by the time she gets back.
That and in about two months, the Japanese government is going to kick back about 3 grand US, just for us having a baby. Sweet. Covers the hospital bill nicely with a touch left over. And my parents wonder why I live here. :)21

Glad to hear mommy and baby are doing fine!! Geeze, after reading that it makes me wish I had my babies over there with all that special treatment!! She's gonna want those massages from you when she gets home I'll bet, and after all the hard work of bringing a new life into the world, she deserves it!

It sounds like the Japanese have it just about right over there, of course she should be pampered after all that hard work, and I'm glad to hear that your partner and your new born are doing just fine!

Thanks all. Things have been going pretty well here so far. My folks are now in Japan for a couple of weeks. They tried sushi for the first time last night. Heh, not sure if it was as big a hit as I had hoped. Ah well, to each his own. Things sure are busy though. Never really stops. 'course, the teenage thing I don't have to worry for a while. I wonder where I can buy one of those Kendo swords they use. Y'know, the bamboo practice ones? Should put the fear of god into any potential suitor with one of those, dontcha think?

You can get kendo shinai at just about any sports store (in Japan, anyway). Maybe you should go for one of the shinken that they use for test-cutting instead. If it can cut through 3 feet of tatami mat, it can cleave any potential suitor in 2. Just my two cents ^_^
