Surrounded by ascending tundra and a series of cliffs, the mount of Nomanfur is a forbidding climb for any traveller in the ladns of adventure. But it is not necessary to scale the summit in order to observe a genuine wonder of magical agriculture.
The glacier Feilds of Nomanfur are, as you may expect, completely covered in ice, but what is remarkable is that in this location, a rare plant covers the claciers, seeming growing out of the ice itslef. Appearing to to a pure white (although blue varieties with starnge powers are rumoured) plant with jaggend leaves and a clear icy flower, the plant known as frostherb is found noly in this part of the world. It's properties are legend among those skilled in herblore. It is always cold to the touch, a wil always frost over unless it is being burned. A potent component in all spells and rituals invoking cold and ice, and counters to the same, alchmeists and magi have been known to pay high rates for the exotic plant.
Danger also awaits poachers however, as the indiginous yeti are fiercely territorial and resent outsiders taking their crop. The Nomanfur Yeti tribes use frostherd for sustenance (imbuing them with even greater cold resistence and extra cold damage on attacks) and magic (their shamans can cast many spells relating to cold ice, and special forms of weather control).
Anothe intersting feature are the monks who have a small temple on the glacier border. They ahave an uneasy truce with the yeti and are allowed to harvest a small amount of frostherb. They have highly developed horticultural techniques. It is rumoured that their abbot has managed to create a 'glacier rose' strain of forstherb, of which there is only one, and it is a herb of great potence.
There being nothing much to see or do further up the mountain, intrepid travellers hoping to take a shortcut by heading down, through a canyon and into The Chasm of Bitter Hope.
