well are we? someone told me there idea of spam was off topic posting. Well sometimes we tend to post off topic but after reading through the threads many stay along the same lines. Birthday threads, snowball fights, rants, quizzes all classed as spam - but are they really?
Now I know it would cause chaos if the kind of posting here was allowed else where but everyone on this site is friendly and fun to post with - which is why we're all here - but I think its great to have a board where everyone can post to have fun or to cheer themselves or others up.
But most of the time everyone posts about the same subject and sometimes if the thread is old then it'll be brought back with a different theme - but its still on topic.
ermm....yeah...anyway I was wondering about other peoples thoughts on this

*hugs the wee bwue dwagon*
you? serious? in the SPAM forum? I guess that figures.
Well, "seriously", there are spam threads and there are spam threads. It's good to have some order in the chaos, otherwise there should be just one huuuuuuuuuuu...uuge thread with spam on it.
This is the place to rant and rave, do the post count thing and bump your own threads, and by itself, it kinda keeps the off-topic crap out of other threads on the forum. It does its job.
I, for one, would be overcome with paranoia if there was just one thread labeled "Off topic crap" - anything posted there would be in-topic about being off-topic, and should be deleted by the mods for being off-topic crap.
The topics here are uhh... kinda freeform. everything turns into something else sooner or later, or dies, as folks can't find their favorite off-topic in a topic.

LBD I don't know about you or anybody eles but I like to come here and just be goofy and very silly. To me this is a place where some one can just let loose and not be serious as some of the other threads. Not to mention but here it seems people are a lot nicer then in some other places. Not that I'm saying that people on this site are mean cause their not. It just seems to me that in the spam froum people are a little bit diffrent and more open to others.

thats why i like it - this is the only site that seem to have this fun part to it. more sites should have something similar. I also feel the people who spam are more friendly and fun - well the ones on this site anyway

Would a spam by any other name be just as spammish?

Nope, it would be other namish because it would no longer be called spam, so it could not be spam, it would be what it is called.

Well, I was trying to parody Shakespeare (Would a rose by any other name smell just as sweet?), but I guess it came out badly.

I don't do Shakespeare, that might have been part of the problem.
