I've been using private messages for play by post info when its meant for one character and not the rest, but maybe it'd be easier for everyone if I just went ahead and posted it.....what do you think? Any preferences?

I'm happy with either case. I suppose it saves some work though if you just post it in the thread, but I don't mind the PMs, it just took a while for me to notice I had a PM. :-)

I just thought I'd let you know that i AM keeping a current record of exp's, despite the fact that you hardly ever hear about it. We're slugging along pretty consistently, and if you ever want an update as to exactly where you're at after a given session, just say so....otherwise, i'll notify you when you're getting close to the next level, so you can start planning.
Everyone is currently 2nd level (except Mel, although she's closing in, thanks to a brilliant background!).....and no, 3rd level is still quite a ways away, even for the mighty Korbach!

I'll be posting descrips of various venues and shops on the Toreala thread. Let me know via the PbP, where you're heading. We'll keep track of the RP in the PbP thread, but I'll outline the places (and prices) in the Toreala thread.

some quick questions for ya kal 1. What is the general etiquite on weapons and armour within a city? 2. Is trade free or do non0citizens of an area need trade writs and whatnot? 3. is being a non-guild mage illegal or just frowned upon?

Draithes questions:
1)Toreala is a city where you would be insane to walk the streets unarmed. There is legislation however against brandishing weapons in certain quarters, and in using a weapon against a native inhabitant of the ancient tribe (Rhialdic Barbarian).
Brun will be the first to tell you that you want weapons, but you don't want to show them. Youre more likely to be accused of assault as you are of actually being assaulted by someone.
2) Trade writs are absolutley required in the inner city limits. Out in the slums and ruins however, a lot of trade goes on, without any monitoring from the city officials.
3) In Toreala nobody will frown on you for being a non-guild mage, or for being a half-elemental, or even for being the bastard son of a troll and a dwarf....they'll just frown on you regardless of all that.
If you're new to the town, you're dirt. If you're not of Rhialdic heritage, you're dirt. If you've got money, and you flash it around too much, you're buried (hehe).
(good questions by the way)

Well, after a solid month of cancellations (except for that java session) we're back on track. Assuming my ISP doesn't blow up, I'll be ready to go this sunday...
Game On!

Just letting you all know our session is 100% GO! although there is a slight risk of losing internet during this late february snowstorm we're having here. So far the connection has held up, so I don't expect to have any problems, but I thought I'd let you all know just in case.
If gametime rolls around, and I find my internet is down, I'll email one or more of you from my cell phone....so don't be surprised if you get an email with the number 732927607 instead of a sender name.
Also, Haz, feel free to send me an email with your shopping list from last session (we can assume you bought some items along with the rest of the party).

I just emailed everyone their surrent exp totals. I thought
I'd let everyone know I'll be awarding slightly higher than normal RP bonuses for the PbP section of our game.
I really feel like the PbP has added a lot to the game, and even though the characters don't do much traditional exp-reward type stuff (i.e. solve the riddle, kill the baddie) I still feel like since its a daily time committment on everyones part that the exp award should be a little higher.

Cool beans.
Kal, would it be ok if I set up a separate thread here for talking about some tactical ideas? I'll try to keep it mostly in character with some ooc explanations of the rules. I'm getting the feeling that it might be an idea to work as a team during combat, rather than everyone doing what they think is best.

I don't mind a new thread at all.
If its going to be an OOC discussion of the rules, what you can and can't get away with, and all that, then it'll likely help us move through combat sequences faster.
Still, I'd love it if people approached combat from the characters perspective, and not from the rulebook. If you feel like trying something in combat thats not outlined by the WOTC people, I'm all for it! It adds flavor to the game, and thats what its all about.
As far as being able to maximize the groups efficiency in battle, well....if all else fails, you can always RUN!
I'd be thrilled if any of the combat discussion was kept in character, and done as an actual conversation between the PC's. (Despite her poor showing last time, Lorna could probably show you all a thing or two!)
Ultimately though, as this thread develops, lets have everyone keep in mind, that its their character, and some of us just weren't meant to be fighters! If chaos erupts from combat, then so be it!

Back Up Server;
I had some problems getting on the Concepts server today...if they persist we'll meet up on Dev II. So try Concepts first, and if I'm not there, fall back to Dev II
