I've been putting most of my effort into my camp run over openRPG, which is also supplemented on the SoD forums here (which, I must say, has been a great addition to the game, thanks to Hussar!).
I'd like to join a PbP campaign as a player! Almost any genre would be good, although my collection of books is limited to D20, I think I could learn a new system if need be. The only real hurdle would be in the character creation process.
I've got tons of unique character ideas, if someone wants to add a player to their camp.
I would be interested in anything from cthulu, to supes, to traditional D&D even, as long as its drama heavy!

If you would ever like to try playing a freeform RPG (i.e. a RPG that isn’t strictly regulated by any set of rules) here in the Shadow of the Dragon (from your post, I understand that you would like to play a play-by-post-board game rather then the one via openRPG), treyguy, you are welcome to join my “Oerth and Beyond” online campaign (http://shadowdragons69.proboards2.com/index.cgi?board=Celene). Although this online campaign has been running for more then a year now, naturally you won’t have to look through the multiple game threads to find out what has happened before your joining, since your character won’t likely have this information anyway. Sooner or later after you’ll join the campaign, you will get some information about what exactly has happened before from some PC(s) and/or NPC(s), until then, you’ll have only a general idea about what is going on.
Although this online campaign was originally intended for high-leveled characters (with level between 15th and 18th), technically you can join it at any level you wish (providing that it isn’t higher then 18th); since this online campaign is mostly freeform, character level won’t have such a big impact on your character’s survivability as it is in by-the-book RPGs, although level will skill determine your character’s skills and spellcasting ability (if any).
As the title says, this campaign mostly take place in the World of Oerth (Grayhawk campaign setting), although on more then one occasion the characters (some of them, at least) are likely to travel to the different worlds and planes. The campaign is currently centered on demonic invasion into the Faerie Kingdom of Celene, the only bastion of gray elves’ power in Oerth. The reasons behind the invasion, however, remain somewhat unclear, and it is entirely possibly that the Faerie Kingdom of Celene is not the demons’ goal, but rather merely a step in archiving it. But while the demons’ ultimate goal remains somewhat unclear, it seems very likely that it involves eventual conquest of the whole Oerth.
In this online campaign I give players variety of options, including not only starting for either “good” or “evil” side, but also switching sides as the game proceed. And actually, there are more then two sides in the unfolding conflict, although two of them – the gray elves of the Faerie Kingdom of Celene and the demonic armies of the powerful being currently known only as “Demonic Wizard” are most visible at the moment. Other sides either keep low-profile or hasn’t been directly involved in the unfolding conflict, at least, not yet.
This online campaign is (IMHO) rather balanced in terms of fighting/role-playing. Usually, a more or less long periods of role-playing take turns with more or less long periods of fighting.
This online campaign tends to go on rather slowly at the moment, so if you will be able to post in there at least once per week it won’t be a major problem (I am not always able to update the game situation more often then once per week anyway).
Anyway, if you are interested, please PM me your character description, and then we will work out how to involve your character into this online campaign. Depending upon your character and the side he would like to join, your character may or may not meet other PCs soon after his joining, although, of course, such meeting will definitely take place sooner or later.
And finally, I am willing to accept character descriptions made for either AD&D, 3rd edition (i.e. either 3.0 or 3.5) of D&D or GURPS (Generic Universal Role-Playing System); although, I would much prefer to have character descriptions made for 3.0 edition of D&D, as this is the edition I know best of all.
P.S.
Unfortunately (for you), my online campaigns leans more towards action then towards drama; while the periods of more or less "peaceful" role-playing are common enough, they can hardly be viewed as something other then periods of rest between battles.

You'd also be welcome to my Knightfall (2ed AD&D) or MechWarrior (Which has all pertenant rules for character creation posted within it) These are both off and running at the new site.

You're welcome into my Beyond the Circle, my Planescape adventure, as well.
I'm using a system that leans heavily towards realism, so combat takes a back seat to drama and heavy role-playing. Combat is quick and brutal, as remorseless as it is in real-life. As such, I always try keep my players' options open, and emphasize good role-playing far more than good combat skills. I'll accept characters from AD&D 2.0, 3.x, and White Wolf (mortals only) as long as they fit the setting. I'm very flexible, and will be willing to work with you regarding various character concepts, but keep in mind that not everything goes on the planes.
Currently, the adventure centers around the town of Ribcage, the gate town leading towards Baator (the nine hells). The town is in a war-time mentality and strange things have been happening as of late, though no one knows for sure what the cause of it is. Moral ambiguity is a big theme in my adventures, as well as the same ideological themes that permeate the Planescape setting. If you're interested, send me a PM with a character concept, and I'll give you my thoughts.
