The panther stops to wait for the rest of you at the bridge over the Long River. You all catch up as the last rays of the sun drop below the horizon. Gydnia is a smallish town in this province and the farmers living there worship at the local druidic temple. There is but one inn (The Inn Of The Mirthful Jester) and a blacksmith's (now closed for the night). The rest of the town is all private homes. PLEASE NOTE TOPIC IS LOCKED UNTIL WED, OCT 1, 2003

As they enter the town, Johnathon stretches and heads for the inn.
He stops part way to see if his friends are following along.

The Inn of the Mirthful Jester is a two story building near the south edge of town. As your, rather large, group enters, all conversation suddenly comes to a halt. The locals are simply awed by the sight of your group. They have never seen such a strange and diverse company as your's traveling in this area before. More than one actually points at the minotaur, centaur and panther, with shocked looks upon their faces. The first to apparently recover is the slim elven bard by the fireplace, Tulana.
Tulana sat upon a stool, beside the fireplace along the north wall of the inn, a tankard of ale on the bottom hearth. She picked at the strings of her mandolin, making sure they were still attuned. Perfect pitch as usual, so a little ditty she started to strum, and catchy tune to sing*
A prudent thief should never drink so much that he becomes bold. Because a thief who boasts and brags will rarely live to grow old. For silence is a thief's best bet and if he breaks this etiquette. Undoubtedly what he will get...will be more trouble than gold.
With a motion of his hand the landlord, (Boswell, if the sign over the door is to be believed) signals that the large panther should remain outside of his establishment.
Looking around the room, you see many other travelers, not near as shocked as the simple farmers of this town. There is a rather oddly dressed Kandoshan female, berating the landlord for not serving her fast enough. Another, whose face is hidden from view by a cloth tucked into each side of his hood, but whose eyes also let you know that he too is from the far away province of Kandosha, sits in a darkened corner of the room back tight to the wall, watching every move you make. Another elf, with light blonde hair and pale skin, watches you from a table near the far wall. Her bright blue eyes settling on one then another of your group, she is dressed in the ornate robes of a mage, her half drunk tankard of ale still in her hand.

*Tulana paused, lifted up her tankard and took a hearty swig of ale. She thought to herself, Well now, looks like I'll earning me keep the hard way this day. She positioned her mandolin, and started a new tune, one with a feistier beat.*
Now then folks, clap your hands and stamp your feet, this little tune will make yer wanna dance. *And she began to sing*
I wake up in my cave and look in on my virgin slaves I go and kill a human For I breakfast I be consumin'
I shoot acid from my eyes And watch the people die I shoot lightning bolts from my fingertips And spout fire from my nose
I go down into town Theres children I will drown Rip goats heads off for fun And put them in my minotaur gum
I shoot acid from my eyes And watch the people die I shoot lightning bolts from my fingertips And spout fire from my nose
The minotaur will find us and put us in his human stew The minotaur will find us and put us in his human stew Human Stew, Human Stew What do you put in a human stew? It's YOU and YOU and YOU
I shoot acid from my eyes And watch the people die I shoot lightning bolts from my fingertips And spout fire from my nose

Johnathon carefully stoops as he enters the building, being extra careful to not hurt anybody or anything.
He tries to ignore the song being sung, but kinda fails as his face turns tauntrum.
He goes up to the bar.
"Bartender, I want a large ale, and be quick about it."

Tellyna let the hood fall from her head, tossing her light blond hair from her face as she sipped from her tankered of ale, she didn't much like the taste, but rather its coolness. She had spent several hours in the heat of the day, insects buzzing about, and was glad to reach this inn. She most deffinatly wouldn't be going anywhere, not until tomorrow any way. She glanced around every now and again, being a bit shy, she didn't approach any one, not yet at least. She watched the woman play her mandoline, and smiled slightly.

Mant Tallow has followed Johnathon this far and so hopes to go relatively un noticed and he slips in behind his rather impressive (and more noticeable friend). Taking a space at the bar a little further down than the others he settles in to wacth the entertainment and keep one eye one his fellow companions in case of trouble. Just a wine bar keep.

Walking up to the bar, next to the minotar, Agamoto asks the bar keep for a mug of mead.
Looking over at him, Agamoto addresses the minotar "Greetings and salutations sir, I am new to these lands and am on a quest. I was wondering if perchance you have run accrost a man wearing black armor with a black shield bering two red lightning bolt on it?"

Tellyna turned her head to look at the stranger who had just entered the inn, she tried her best not to listen in upon the conversation, after all, it was rude, but found that it was a futile effort, for she was curious. She sipped at her ale, then pushed the mug aside, striding up to the bar and ordering some water, she then sat next to the new commer. She didn't speak, for she was still a little shy, but sipped at her water instead.

Caught in a mid hoist, Johnathon carefully lowers his ale stein, lets go of his stein and turns to face the considerably smaller man. "We'll met friend. I don't remember anyone like that personally, but I think we ran into a few of his henchman a couple of nights ago?" "What do you know of these men?"

*Tulana finished her song, and gave a sigh of relief for the minotaur had not tried to bash her head in for that little number. Picking up her tankard, she was disappointed to see that it was quite empty.*
"Hmmm, can't be carrying a tune with a throat dry as the desert" *She got up, walked over to the bar and called to the barkeep* Here now me fine man, that song of mine has earned me a full one. Fill 'er up, and the quicker ye does it, the sooner I can be entertain these folk once agin."

The barkeep happily refills the elf minstrel's mug, for it is known far and wide that they are the most respected of bards. How could he refuse to give one a drink in his tiny establishment. We've prepared a room for you. If you intend to stay the night. Just as he hands the bard her ale, thunder crashes outside and the sky open up with a fury. Well, looks like no more traveler's tonight. No sane person'd be out on a night like this. As if to punctuate his stament another huge crash of thunder follows a lightning flash so bright the night looked like day for a split second. Then, the inn's door swings wide with the next crash of thunder. Framed in the ensuing flashes of lightning is a huge man, soaked and dripping, a snake tattoo upon his forearm visible in the brief flashes of lightning. Innkeep! You got a room? You know...I'm not sure. But if not, I'll let you stay in the common room after closing for 1 gold. Common room is enough, just need a place to wait out this damnable weather. Here's the coin, and another for a tankerd of your finest The stranger tosses the two gold coins wide of the barkeep, bouncing them off the back of the minotaurs head. Ha! Couldn't a done any better if i'd a aimed 'em thar. He continues laughing, as he walks to the bar to collect his drink.

Tellyna smiled at Tulana as she finished playing, then stiffled a yawn, it wasn't that she was tired, just bored and with nothing to do. She stood up for a moment, scanning over the people with her bright blue eyes, then, noticing her water was gone, she walked up to the bar tender. "Do you have wine?" She asked, wondering how much it would be, and if she could afford it, what kind.
