Just in case you missed it, it is now midnight. Hannibal's roll was a success and you are not currently lost in the woods. You've managed only another 5 miles though. You should be able to rest up and still arrive in town before noon tomorrow. You are all currently cold and damp (and in Elk's case muddy).

It truly is becoming late lady. Perhaps we should rest for the remainder of the night and continue on in at first light?

Looking up at Hannibal, Rayn says
~I respect your judgement and your concern for us, however I would just as soon continue on and get to town sooner then later.
What say you Elk? Do you have the metal to keep going through the night or do you have the need to stop and rest?~

[glow=yellow,33,300]<Elk> Looking down at his muddy and damp clothes. Elk says, " I could surely use a bit of a rest, not to mention a nice fire, but I will travel on if that is the majority decision. So what's it to be Hannibal."[/glow]

Nodding in admiration at the spirit of these two legs, Hannibal turns and begins pushing on through the brush. Let us be off then.

Straightening her shoulder in a determinded fashion, Rayn falls into step behind Hannibals retreating form.

[glow=yellow,33,300]<Elk> Here goes nothing.[/glow] Elk says, falling into line with Rayn and Hannibal.
Walking on through the night will require 2 additonal rolls for Hannibal. With any luck, you won't all get lost. If all goes well, you should be in town tomorrow morning around 8 am. This will be the next day for the rest of the party so when you arrive there will be a short break for the woods characters while the timeline catches up with you.

Unfortuneately Hannibal has failed his first attempt to navigate in the dark and has managed to lose the party in the woods.
Suddenly realizing that the area he's traveling in doesn't look right in the moonlight. Stopping to try to get his bearings he realizes that they are no longer following his path (such as it was) back to town.
Choice time Hannibal. Try to find your way, or wait for daylight to get your bearings. Please post your actions.

*Looks around for traces of his former path. Looks a few more times and then decides that continuing straight on till morning is the best.*

Do not worry little friend. My kind has an excellent sense of direction. We always know where we are. Come, we will make the town and enjoy the warmth before you know it.

Traveling on, Hannibal, Rayn and Elk come across a tiny little stream, the hard way. Stumbling into the tiny, ok ditch more than stream, Hannibal stops suddenly, falling to his forelegs knees, bruising one badly (2 hp damage) and causing the others to stumble as well.
After recovering from his trip, Hannibal realizes (made his second navigation check) that the stream is running south and should empty into the Long River (just south of Gydnia), making a quick calculation of how long they've been traveling also lets him realize that they will come to the river at a point east of town.
[glow=yellow,33,300]<Elk> So Hannibal, have a nice trip? Now you know how I felt. Might wanna get that knee looked at before we go on, wouldn't want our fearless leader getting lame on us. *** then under his breath Elk says*** cause yer too damn big to carry outa here. [/glow]

Can either of you help me with this wound? And the wound in my back feels like it may have reopened in the fall.
We are nearly there. Let us continue once you have checked out my wounds.

[glow=yellow,33,300]<Elk> I am no healer. But I do believe that Mistree Rayn has displayed some proficiency with that sort of thing. That is, if I am not terribly mistaken.[/glow]

Kneeling down in front of him, Rayn lights a piece of wood kept dry in her pouch to take a look at Hannibals leg to make sure it's not to serious. Cleansing the wound, she applies some salve to it, wrapping it in a clean bandage procured from the pack on her back.
She then re-examines the knife wound on Hannibals back to assess if it had reopened in the fall. Seeing the it only was irritated from the pull on the freshly closed wound, she reapplies some salve to it, to guard against infection, and to numb the pain he may be feeling.
Then once again falls into step following their guide.
