If your character uses the phrase "I am as strong as a horse!" to make introductions, how strong is your character?
I did a quick read of the animal section in the MM. The stats of the character descriptions that I have heard in my games are listed below. For most characters, the character description fails to do the characters stats justice. Strength is the exception. It seems fighters are boasting for the most part.
Strong as a(n); Brown Bear: STR 27 Polar Bear: STR 27 Rhino: STR 26 Ape: STR 23 Black Bear: STR 19 Horse: STR 16-18
Eyes of a(n); Eagle: Spot +14 Hawk: Spot +14
Quiet as a(n); Cat: MS +6 Cheetah: MS +6
In any case, I was going over a few NPCs when I got to thinking about the character descriptions. Just thought I would share...

"I'm a strong as a horse!"... more realistic but I'm not sure it has the same ring to it!

Um...Kafen. You forgot to list the ox in the Strength column.

I have a character that's stronger than an ape, but not yet as strong as a rhino. Her strength is 24.

this is when having a druid is handy. fight A comes in and declares he/she is as strong/stronger than animal type. Druid then summons animal type a and commands it to duke it out with the fighter. if the fighter wins, proof is attained and thus the fighter can boast all they want. Failure means the fighter is pansed and branded with the fairy runes of shame...
