After d/ling the files, is there much point in picking up the books? The books are pretty darn expensive.

I haven't picked up either book yet and I agree they are pricy. i guess it's all a mater of what you're willing to pay.

Well I really like the Stingy Gamer edition for BESM, since the tables are laid out better, and it's just easier to flip thru and find what you need.

A truly great link, Knightfall1972, even though I've come across this thread of yours only recently!
I've downloaded the rules for 3.0 edition of D&D, and even though I didn't have time to look through all of them, I liked what I saw very much!
