After our long voyage at sea, we have finally set ashore of the mysterious island. We were greeted by some friendly and interesting natives-a kind of offshoot of the dwarves that painted themselves with tiger stripes.
Luckily, our priest had a tongues spell and we were able to communicate without any problems. The priest and the natives got along rather well, and a feast followed by games and rioutos drinking soon followed.
Several of our party participated in a native game involving ramming two large wooden structures together, quite exciting but not suited for one of the arcane arts such as I. All in all an exciting time, we have been very fortunate so far.
From these 'tiger dwarves' we learned that the island is inhabited by 4 other races, all of them sounding deadly and not in the least benign. Tirbes of snake people, talking frogs, fierce lions and intelligent ants that build are also on the island. I overheard a few of the crew members saying they believe the Yuan-ti may be on the island-an unpleasent thought.
I'm not sure what will happen, but I fear for the saftey of the crew as well as myself. I only hope all goes well and my spells will be of use to everyone.

Day 36-
After the relative calm of last week, today was far more eventful. I was nearly killed by a gigantic dinosaur that lived in the waters near the island. We went down to harvest pearls-myself, Endil, Grimnoor and Felon and were attacked by the ravenous dinosuar like creature. It had a body similar to a turtle but also had a long neck full of sharp teeth.
I drove my spear into the thing and was bitten in battle. After that I remember nothing but waking upon a beach, my wounds miraculously healed.
After this event, an even more sinister and deadly encounter ensued. One of the villagers returned from hunting covered in a kind of moss that had driven all intelligence and energy from him.
Our group set out from the village to track the source of this strange mold-akin to a disease. While tracking we were attacked by two more large dinosaurs that were also covered in the mold. Our party and 15 warriors with crossbows took down the great beasts, but not before one of our number, Grimnoor the half-orc, was forced to engage the monster in very close combat.
We can only hope the mold disease is not so easlily transmitted. We have to wait and see, but everyone is eyeing our stalwart companion and greatest fighter warily, hoping the disease does not come to them.
I hope this disease does not tear apart our bonds of comradeship we have had so far.

Day 37
Another attempt to find the source of the strange fungi like disease. Today we were attacked by a large group of animals-some kind of ape native to the island and a jaguar like creature. At least 20 of the animals attacked us. Luckily, the fungi had weakened the creatures and our crew of 20 soldiers was able to defeat them without any casualties. We owe our saftey to the singing of Elias and a payer by our priest Kelly to Corean. The combination of the two helped us to defeat the diseased animals.
Unfortunatley, the air was covered with the fungus after the battle.
Now, the problem at hand is what to do with about 9 apes that have been caught in my Wehshalla's Excellent Binding spell. They are entangled in a web, and seem close to death. Grimnoor, the half-orc monk, wishes to speak with them-I'm not sure how. Perhaps Kelly has a spell to help us.
Finally, Kelly revealed to us that he has been charged by his diety to retrieve a shard of an ancient and magic sword from the times when men were still young upon the earth. Unfortunatley, this sword is held in the underground lair of the snake people that inhabit this island. I think this will be the most dangerous undertaking of my life, and I am worried greatly, but I have pledged to help this good man to redeem himself.
I have also sent a magical message to the council of the Red Swamiis in the far east about this shard and these snake people. They may be interested, and in the event of my death, may despatch another retainer.

During our exploration to uncover and possibly destroy the source of the purple fungus, we have encountered many gorillas and large jaguars who were covered in it. The fungus seems to control them even after death, however they were apparently slower in reactions than normal. During the battle, we were exposed to the purple dust from the fungus and could be infected. I favor immediately cleaning ourselves up in a local stream to rid ourselves of the ghastly purple dust. Obviously, we will likely have to find and destroy the source of this fungal plague or the problems will continue. My hope is that destroying the main colony will kill the individual infections as well but for now it is only a hope.
After the battle, I revealed my dream where my Diety charged me with improper conduct concerning the time when the orcs under Grimnor's leadership partook of human flesh. My diety said that I was more concerned with recovery of the pirates treasure than I was with stopping the blood-maddened orcs. While I am not sure that I could have stopped 40 or more orcs engaging in a bloodlust that stemmed from battle with the human pirates, I do know that I did not want to pursue the treasure in lieu of doing what was right. In fact, our party held a vote on going into the pirates cave to get the treasure, and I was the only one who voted no. At the time, I worried that the cave could be a dead-end and we would be trapped inside. However, I have learned long ago not to argue with my superiors (which includes my Diety). Perhaps that was a test to see if I would object or try to make excuses, and hopefully I passed. At this point, the best thing to do is follow my Diety's instructions and not worry about such inconsequential details.
I am charged with a quest to recover a lost shard from the Long Sword of Corean. This shard is located in the snake men's mound on this island, and was lost during his battle with a Titan long ago. I have disclosed this information and quest to my most trusted commrades, and so far they have indicated that they are willing to help me recover the Sword Shard and return it to Corean. I imagine that this task is going to be extremely dangerous, but it must be done.
Unfortunately, Corean took away all of my domain spells until the Shard is recovered. I hope to complete this quest in the near future, and who knows maybe the way to end the plague will be connected with the quest. It would not surprise me if Corean is sending me on one quest and it will solve several problems in the world. Afterall, his wisdom exceeds mine over one thousand fold.

During our foray into the jungle, we finally located the source of the purple fungus which was taking over the local animal life. It was a giant purple mushroom (not the magical kind, so we killed it instead of eating it). When we located the mushroom, the troops controlled by Azzkigar attacked it with crossbows while the bulk of the rest of the troops and PCs fought a giant purple zombie fungus lizard that attacked us.
Since there was no extra room to engage in melee and also since my troops attempt to shoot their crossbows into melee turned out badly, they guarded the party's rear from any other attacks. We killed the giant lizard, but only after it almost killed several of us. When I rushed to the aid of a fallen trooper who was mauled by the beast, it ferociously attacked me and nearly killed me in a single blow. I managed to heal two troops (one who was nearly unconscious and one who was unconscious and near death). After the battle with the lizard ended, I healed up the rest of the party and then myself.
At this point, we used fire to finish off the giant mushroom and found several gems and a magic conk shell in the ashes. We returned to the village as heroes and had a celebration. I did not allow myself the pleasure of alcohol and pledged not to do so for entertainment until my quest from my diety is completed. We also bathed in a local spring to wash the infernal purple fungus spores from our bodies. Just to be extra careful, I cast remove disease on myself that night. I also used all my spells as was necessary to get the entire group back up to full strength before retiring to bed for the evening.
The next morning we awoke fresh and decided to explore the trail leading into the northern parts of the island. The dwarven-tiger people never travel this far away from their defenses, but saw us off on our journey with rousing cheers. Mylo and the captain will remain with the ship, along with the crew and all the marines but 14. They will continue to get the ship seaworthy and to conduct the trade mission and harvest pearls. (That should keep the ship safe, which is crucial since it is our only way off the island). The rest of us are headed north along with 14 marines. Grimnor is in command of this mission, and he appointed me as second in command. I hope it does not come to that since that would likely mean that the friendly half-orc monk is missing or dead.
The party has agreed to help me with my quest from my diety, but we have talked to the tribal leaders and they have confirmed that the snake men's mound that I seek is approximately a month's march north of here. It seems that the quest will not be completed anytime soon, but at least the party is headed in the correct direction. I hope to complete this quest as soon as possible so that my powers will be returned. Without my domain spells, I have virtually no magical offensive spells and am limited to combat and healing primarily. May Corean bless this mission and speed us to a successful conclusion.
