Well, I can see the days on the Island ending, at least in the reasonably near future (barring major connection problems again ) So, from there, you will likely be headed back to Mithril to complete your contract, return what needs to be returned and gain some very well earned rest. Fine, no problem. However, what would you like to do after that? Do you wish to continue life on the high seas? Would you like to go back to the island and explore some more? Or, do you want to become land lubbers again and stay in Mithril and the surrounding areas? Or, would you like to explore more of Scarn? The choices are plentiful. What would you like to see happen?

The island has been fun, and there is still a lot to explore. I think after we wrap things up here, I would like to explore more of Scarn and see what happens.

If Endil's still around, he'd be most comfortable on a ship. I really think he has sea elf in his heritage somewhere.

Some stride towards a vast and epic saga would be nice, something beyond "kill the badguys" if you catch my drift.

Staying in Mithril might be a bit tricky, since Palai is wanted for murder there (an eight year old murder of some drunken oaf, but nonetheless). Like Endil, Palai is most comfortable at sea, but he’s not too picky and would gladly go on just about any kind of adventure.

Adventures leading to possible development and taming of savage lands carving out a territory we can eventually develop into our own nation or fiefdom. Or...er....we can kill more bad guys. LOL.

Well, as I mentioned online, I have a few ideas for where things can go next. I just don't want you guys to feel railroaded into doing what I want and have no freedom of your own. It's perfectly fine to have an illusion of freedom . I think I will be moving along with a sort of moving campaign. You guys have been fairly static so far, and you are now at levels where I can send you out into the broader world without worrying that you're going to die all the time. As I said, I have a nifty new book which details the Blood Sea and has lots of pirates/sea monsters/swashbuckling sort of stuff. I think you will enjoy. Heh, it will also be a lot easier for me to come up with battle maps. Hmmm, the water is blue this time. Hey, the water is blue again. Holy crap, look, blue water.

hmmm... if we're going to stay on the water, then i think i'll stick with endil, he's great on boats, but is really bad on land.

Cool. If you are interested in trading in Endil, we can talk about that. No problem. I know what it's like to start off with a character and then realize the concept wasn'T nearly as much fun in the execution.
I can foresee a LOT more RP in the future. I hope anyway.

Looking over some of the comments today, I am wondering a few things. If you want to set up a colony on the plateau, this could be done. If you want to continue adventuring on the island, with the trials and tribulations of setting up a colony in a potentially hostile environment, then that sounds cool to me. I see no reason why you cannot claim this land as your own (less the southern peninsula where the Tiger dwarves have their towns) and begin pacifying it. You have a ship with which you can carry LOTS of passengers. I think using the Canadian example would work. If you can hold the land for one year, clearing it and making it workable, then its yours. After that, you could sell or give parcels away to others.
Certainly, the plateau is VERY defendable, it has a source of clean water and the plateau is certainly big enough to handle settlers for quite some time. IIRC, it's about 30 miles in diameter. This could hold a very sizable population.
You guys could set yourselves up as kings.
One thing to be aware of though, is the plateau is effectively landlocked. Outside shipments would be problematic. However, setting up a settlement at the mouth of the river could also be a goal for the future.
There's tons of stuff left on the island, so, if this is what you want to do, feel free. I think its a great idea.
