I was talking with a friend last night, and he was giving me the storyline on the Gundam Wing series, and I got to thinking.......with all these new shows and superheroes coming out with computerized suits to do battle with, who do you think would win in a fight, if they were to fight each other? The old superheroes like Superman and Batman, etc. or the newer ones like The Power Rangers and the Gundam's (Power Ranger's used as an example here folks)? I was just curious to see other's opinions.

The senior citizens would kick arse. I mean come on, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Flash, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, the Atom, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Plastic Man, Captain Marvel, Iron Man, The Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Captain America, Spider-Man, heck, let's just shorten the list and say Avengers as well (I am forgetting quite a few) and no one can forget the Incredible Hulk (comic book version). The company itself has said his maximum strength is as of yet unknown and in one issue the guy was HOLDING A MOUNTAIN ON HIS BACK.

Power Rangers would get their butts handed to them by Power Pack! Gundam Wing? Please, last 5 seconds against Ye Olde Timers. Thor, Hulk, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Titans, JLA, etc. Of course if we did a Superhero Smackdown, my cash is on the X-Men:
The New X-Men:
Professor X (Charles Xavier): the world's most powerful telepath
Jean Grey: the Phoenix. Need I say more?
Cyclops (Scott Summers): The original and always fearless leader who can punch holes in mountains with a blink of an eye.. literally
Beast (Hank McCoy): Body by King Kong and brains by Einstein!
White Queen (Emma Frost): Third most powerful telepath in the world after Prof X and Jean, and totally invulnerable in her diamond form (heck, she survived a nuclear blast!)
Wolverine (Logan, real name: James Howlett): Everyone's favorite adamantium-laced psycho, and he's over 100 and still going!
Uncanny X-Men:
Archangel (Warren Worthington, III): Flight, healing, and a nasty 'tude. Oh, yeah... and a magickal holy sword he swiped from Magik of the Exiles!
Iceman (Bobby Drake): Hello, can freeze city blocks at a time. Heck, he can kill someone by freezing the air in their lungs! Not the wimp he used to be... ok, may be dead, but no one stays dead in the Marvel Universe for long
Husk (Paige Guthrie): Almost as invulnerable as Wolvie!
Jubilee (Jubilation Lee): Her fireworks can trash large robots in a single bound
Havok (Alex Summers): solar-powered plasma blasts. Temperature: about a million degrees Farenheit...
Nightcrawler (Kurt Wagner): Fuzzy, blue teleporter who'll whoop your butt with style!
Juggernaut (Cain Marko): the original immovable object AND irresistable force rolled into one
Northstar (Jean-Peal Beaubier): he may not hit hard, but a couple of hundred punches at the speed of sound over three seconds will trash almost anything...including those who are invulnerable
Polaris (Lorna Dane): Mistress of Magnetism, and man she learned nasty tricks from Magneto... imagine all the iron in your blood being manipulated by her at once... hurts just thinking about it
X-Treme X-Men:
Storm (Ororo Munroe): Mistress of the elements. 'nuff said.
Sage (Tessa): is there anything she DOESN'T know?!?
Bishop (Lucas Bishop): Gundam's lasers are useless against a man who can absorb them...
Gambit and Rogue: no powers, but still kick butt!
Cannonball (Sam Guthrie): Fast, invulnerable, and can pack a mean plasma blast shield punch!
Magma (Allison Crestmere, aka Amara Olivana Juliana Aquila): Uhh... lava and earth control. She'll rock your world then melt it to pieces
The New Mutants (2003):
teachers:
Moonstar (Danielle Moonstar): She's your worst nightmare.. literally
Karma (Xi'an Coy Manh): She'll take your mind and do things with your body you'll never remember
Wolfsbane (Rahne Sinclair): Hi! a scottish 10' werewolf is pretty darn impressive....
students:
David: Talent Mimicry: anything you can do, well, so can he!
Sofia: total wind control... flight, sonic booms, hurricanes, superhuman hearing, immunity to pheromones similar attacks...
Laurie: Pheromones: she'll make you love her or kill your best friend with a scent
Josh: he'll make sure that when an X-Man is down, they'll get right back up again with his healing touch

Although there is one advantage that Gundam or things like that have. Numbers. You can field many many many Gundams vs the limited number of heroes. The heroes have to get lucky every time, the Gundam's only have to get lucky once.

Hey, the X-Men took on an entire interstellar empire and won (the Shi'ar), so I would definitely say it's a case of "been there, done that" when taking on the Gundam Armada...

I would go with the super hero's that have natural ability like superman and thor.
The one who have to depend on computer gadets and suits. Well if the power runs out or it breaks. there up a creek without a paddel.

Just to be fair to the gundams, what about Wing Zero with it's massively powerful dual energy cannon? That would knock the wind out of many, many heroes.

I can beat that reply with one word: "Phoenix" Can Goku destroy an entire galaxy? If not, Phoenix wins

Hang on, now it's been a long time since I read Xmen, so maybe this is something new, but Phoenix ate a star, not a galaxy. Granted, still pretty powerful.
Thing is, it really depends on whose logic you use. If you use comic book logic, then the comic book heroes win. If you use reality, then the tech wins. I don't care how powerful Prof X is, he still can't do much about a nuclear tipped cruise missile. Wolverine would last about 1.5 seconds before being turned to a pile of ash by hordes of beam weapons. The only real threats would be the uber heroes like Phoenix, Thor and Superman. Hulk? Lasts a short while, but eventually succumbs when he is dragged into orbit and dies of asphixiation. Supes? Kryptonite tipped bullets and he's toast. Thor? Phoenix? They'd probably kick ass and chew bubblegum at the same time. But, not bad when tech beats pretty much anything other than a GOD or a GODDESS.

Well, since most of the Japanese Anime we are talking about prolly came from Manga anyway, I guess we should use comic book logic? <shrugs> dammit, too early in the AM to be worrying about logic when I'm trying to decide if Wolvie can kick Goku's butt!

Batman's not even super! He's just an ordanary millionare with a genious level IQ, unless something happened to him or something.... I never did like Batman... And the Marvel superheros... well... ya... X-Men rule... but it's the villans that I like. Magneto, Venom(and consequently, Carnage), and... well, those are the only Marvel villans that left any impression on me. And for the Goku vs. Wolverine fight, as much as I like Wolverine, a blast that can distroy a planet in 1 hit is kinda hard to regenerate... but if you ignore the energy abilities, then Wolverine wins, no matter how strong Goku may or may not be, Wolverine's claws and skeleton will win. And for Gundam's vs. Superheros... hmmm... only the really strong (Juggernaut, Beast, Superman, and a few others) or the really fast (Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Superman, and others) or those who can manipulate metal (Pretty obvious) or with telepathic/telekinetic powers have a chance, but those really cover most of the old superheros, so... only ordanaries like batman or... um... robin, and... the batman villans would lose to the giant death machines. (Sorrey to all you Batman fans, but I just don't find anything very super about him... Gates has more money and being really smart and having a red phone and fast car don't really constitute to super powers... so Batman

Cosmic Horror, I have to disagree with you about Goku beating Wolvie for Goku to make the planet destorying blast takes time and wolvie could just put the major hurting on Goku and make him lose enough consertration so that he couldn't create the spirit bomd. Therefore wolvie would completely wipe the floor with Goku's butt the only problem would be it would take long time seeing as both of them can take a beating and keep standing.
