Kyle silently picks out one of the horses whom are not to well built but not to weak for his standards and swings a saddle up over it buckling it tightly. Then he wraps the reigns around the creatures head before he lifts himself into the saddle casualy. He still refuses to speak a single word...

Alyssa glances towards Garth, then back towards Tal
~Aye mela en' coiamin, I am seeing this~
Proceeding out to the stables, Alyssa goes to her assigned horse.
Mounting it, she leans forward on its neck, and whispers softly into its ear, the horse nodding its head as if understanding her.
Then running a hand softly down its neck she sits up in the saddle, her split skirt parting, to show much of the length of her legs.

Garth takes his usual position at the rear of the column. Strange. He always seemed to be at the rear of the column whenever he travelled with Crista. Must be for his exceptional fighting skills. Yeah, that's it. But what the hey. There's always a good view from this angle, and thems up front will set off the traps first.
Finally Garth shakes the daydreams from his head, and says to Tal: "So, you were like in the Abyss, shovelling s**t for Bane, while your wife had no idea you were gone? Wow! What a great excuse for being gone carousing - and she bought it too? Man, my hat's off to you."
Tal notices that Garth is being genuine with his compliment, being the simple fellow that he is.
(OOC: I want to set the record straight now, that I am nothing like Garth!)

Tal looks at Garth..
"Ye've got a lot to learn boy.. I wasn't out carousin.. though I had me fill in me younger days.. There is far more to dealing wit' the fairer gender than false bravado and a different lass in each city.. I lived that life and it'll leave ye hollow inside before long.. Ye may think that's livin.. but trust someone that's been down that path.. it's not what it seems.
Lle naaharan e' nausalle Ascarer
Don't think the women don't see right through you.."
Tal rides up to be alongside his wife..

Keely reluctantly mounts onto a horse, and puts the crossbow in a swivel on her custom saddle.
"Ready to head mistress" Keely says as she gets ready to ride.

*Crista was impressed by the mage's choice in husband, not a lightweight after all is what she thought. Still, for him to show up, just as the mage was sent out on this mission....Crista did not like coincidences, not at all.*
"Aye Keely, lets ride out. I want us to get to Crig's Crag before nightfall. We'll need to set up camp there, and have a steady watch. Something's not settin right in me bones. Did yer bring the bat, just in case? Yer know Garth's cooking can do us all in.
*Crista rode out, Keely beside her*

Tal turns a bemused look on his wife..
"Interestin'? Ye want interestin' do ya?... We'll have ta talk about tha' later won't we.."
His face an unreadable mask.. except for a quick flash of acknowledgement in his eyes.. then inscrutible again..
Slowly his "scoundral grin" returns to his face.. a cocky, rakish lopsided half grin.. and a deep mirth in his eyes..

Garth regarded Tal's comments for a few moments and reflected on them to himself. Did Tal really mean he was happier with a ball and chain around his neck? Couldn't be. Really? Naw! He's just envious - wants me to be as miserable as he is. That had to be it, didn't it? Gold and women! What more to life could there be? Ok, besides food. Food. Dang, I'm hungry. Crista eats a cracker a week - but me - I gotta keep me strength up. "Hey Crista! When's our lunch break? And don't be worrying your pretty self none about being attacked. Ya's got me here, remember?"
Garth, to prove his point, sits straight in his saddle and looks around for signs of trouble. Then he grabs an apple out of his haversack - and gives it to his horse.

(OOC: Sorry, haven't been able to get to a computer long enough to post for a while ) Ignitius staggered out of the bar and onto the broken-down old nag the guild had provided for the mad wizard. Through a series of magicial 'shortcuts', he catches up to the rest of the party. Though that obnoxious smile still remains on the genasi's face, everyone can tell he's rather grumpy. Riding on a horse with a hangover can do that to people. "Now I can tell why I hates horses, heheheh... This 'un smells like he rolled in the ol' manure pile, he did..." It's times like this when the insane sorcerer wishes that he had a spare magic carpet lying around...

*Crista ignored Garth's grumblings over food, they'd only been on the road for an hour, and they'd 15 more miles till reaching the Crag. The road itself turned to the right, seeming to narrow as the sides rolled off into shallow ditches. She called back to Kyle.* "Come up here with me." *But no sooner had she turned her head back forward when an arrow impaled itself into her saddle.*
*From the ditches, about 30' away from the main road on each side of the party, rose up 26 kobalds, 13 in each ditch, short bows firing, arrows flying into and over the party. Another arrow wized past Crista, narrowly missing her face, while another hit Keely in her right foot.*
"Defenses!!!" Aye, mage, get us cover so we can get out of here alive. *She shouted back to Alyssa.*

Garth the not too bright but always ready for a brawl, spurs his horse towards the kobolds on the left at a gallop, and when within 10' feet of them, leaps off of his horse. Far from being a picture of perfectness or a gymnist, he lands hard, tumbles and rolls - kicking up dust and small pebbles flying all around. Wobbling, he gets up, fumbles for his sword and announces to the kobolds in a slurring, have dazed manner: "Prepare to die, ...be cooked and ...eaten." And he weaves his way into the mass of kobolds, swinging his sword.

Kyle peers up at Crista for a moment before eyeing the small lizardmen calmly. He dismounted on the spot and concentrated hard on keeping his targets strait. He moved down towards the kobalds at a slow pace at first but he accelerated... Until he was at a speed that should not be humanly possible and he made a flying kick towards the nearest beast's head.
