Sure, if its faster you can tell me about it here.
Cool, fire away.
(by wierd, I mean unusual. I don't think I have ever heard of a show like this before)
JSUN
It's one of the UK only shows.
Okdokie:
The tv show is hosted by; Treguard (Hugo Myatt): Lord of Dunhelm and the show's host. Advised the contestants and might very occasionally give them a hint if they needed it.
(I'll explain how I'll make this work as a rpg at the end ok!)
Treguard also had someone in the castle with him; Pickle (David Learner): Treguard's first assistant, comedy foil and handy plot-exposition device. Introduced in series 4 to take some of the workload of preparing and advising dungeoneers. Not very bright, but knowledgable about remoter parts of the dungeon and could help more actively than Treguard. An elf. (Who is also my fave character of the lot, go pickle go pickle!)
They would stay in the castle room where they would observe the person going into the dungeon. Treguard gave help when he was allowed to (there are rules to the game) and cautioned the team. Pickle did the same but he helped out whenever he wanted and if he shouldn't Treguard would usually scold him.
The children in the show were in a team of 4. 3 kids to stay in the castle room with Treguard and Pickle and 1 kid was the dungeonier who walked into the dungeon and did all the tasks. The 3 kids were his guides as the dungeonier had to wear the helmet of justice which stopped him/her from seeing very little.
There were places to go eg castles and dungeons, the dungeonier sometimes travelled on dragons, boats, inn's etc. they could cast spells (when they gained them) and could interact with people. Here are a few of the other characters (goodies);
Majida (Jackie Sawris): Treguard's second assistant who took over from series 7 onwards. A Hispanic genie whom Treguard found trapped in a bottle and whose dynamism frequently drove his legendary patience to the brink. Pushy and excitable, but the tension between them made for better banter.
Hordriss The Confuser (Clifford Norgate): Slightly pretentious wizard, who could be very helpful to the dungeoneers if they were any good at riddles. Also doled out the prizes to the winners. Acquired an equally talented if more whimsical daughter, Sidriss (Iona Kennedy), in Series 6. Unfortunately not as wise as he made out, since both of them were easy marks for Lord Fear and frequently needed to be rescued.
Motley and Melissandre (Paul Valentine and Zoe Loftin): Depressive jester and winsome maiden. Both always willing to help out with guidance or a password. When Melissandre disappeared in the maze, Motley was inconsolable and vanished for an entire series- until he met Sidriss.
Treguard and Majida -
The dungeon master and the genie back again for another series. No mention of what they think of their new chamber, but I assume it was well received
Stiletta - A third-level warrior thief.
Brother Strange - A Proverbial Monk.
Smirkenorff -
Stayed here for much of the series, sleeping most of the time but sometimes speaking to dungeoneers when required.
Treguard ordered him to rescue a dungeoneer on level 3 at the end of the season
Lillith -
She guards the snake-mouth chasm of level 1, known as 'Lillith's Lair'. Killed a couple of dungeoneers by doing her favorite hobby - crumbling ledges. Likes potion, hates almost everything else. Lillith is not easily persuaded, and has the power to overpower Treguard.
Oracle of Confusion -
"To hear it speak, shut your eyes tightly, and raise the helmet slightly."
This level 2 ghost only appeared a couple of times in the first few episodes. A source of information for the teams for a short while.
Merlin - The Wizard
Always asks you riddles in return for clues and magic. Appears in his very own chamber in level 2 and appears again in level 3 to offer teams additional help to complete their quests.
Mildread - The Witch
Enjoys tricking dungeoneers, sometimes wanting something for her cauldron. Occasionally she offers the odd piece of magic in return for something, but gets a lot of pleasure out of impersonating Treguard or an advisor.
*ugghh there are loads of goodies, here are the opposition:*
Lord Fear (Mark Knight): Leader of the Opposition from Series 5 onwards and Olympic champion gloater. Smarter and deadlier than any of the other baddies but could be beaten off with a well-timed spell. Occupational hazards of being Evil Overlord included being frozen by miscast spells, spied on by the team and being crushed by falling trolls.
Mogdread (John Woodnutt): early semi-regular bad guy found on level 3. Tried to convert any passing dungeoneer to the Dark Side, unless he wanted to mislead them into walking over a cliff. Several different sidekicks including the particularly nasty Morghanna (Natasha Pope).
Sylvester Hands (also Paul Valentine): cowardly, dim and greedy thief. Not really an Opposition pawn but too afraid of Lord Fear to rebel much. Easy to handle as long as you dealt from a position of strength - show fear, and he would pounce to capture or kill.
Lissard (Cliff Barry): Lord Fear's scaly, slimy lieutenant. Not the brightest of the bunch, but dangerous nonetheless. Cliff also played Raptor, master of the Goblins, who was fond of arresting hapless dungeoneers who spent too long searching a room or who tried blowing a Goblin horn.
Skarkill The Goblin Master -Little good can be said about the dastardly Skarkill. Even the Goblins don't like him Fortunately, Skarkill is a soldier of fortune and his rapacious desire for gold and silver can lead him to forget his allegiance to Lord Fear and opt for the instant rewards of bribery. The gravel-voiced Skarkill is an intimidating opponent and few dungeoneers will get past him once he has sprung his trap. Left picture shows a view from Lord Fear's crystal ball
Aesandre -Also known as 'Old Icy-knickers' to her enemies, the beautiful sorceress is an arch-ally of The Opposition and a committed opponent of all dungeoneers. The frozen beauty rules the kingdom of Winteria, deep in Level Three, and is a formidable obstacle to any who attempt to redeem a quest object.
Anyways,
The team had to retreave an item either: the crown, sword, cup or shield.
They had to pass through 3 levels, the third being the last.
*phew* I'm exhausted after doing all that!
Read this and tell me what you think and then I'll tell you my plan for the rpg.
Ohh and in the rpg you won't be able to play any of the characters above, and you won't be a dungeonier either the rpg will be very diiferent in terms of gameplay.
