Linus laughed and nodded in reply.
He looked hurt at what she said next, "Aww... and I thought this was special..." he pulled a mock tragic pose.
He then grinned roguishly at them. "Were you this bashful around all the others? Or do most male MI5 agents have no personality..." he laughed slightly, teasingly. "What was it like sleeping in the same bed as a plank of wood?" he stuck his tongue out and sat down on the right side of the bed and stripped his socks off his feet.
"Yea... trouble would be bad... what kind of trouble do you think we might run into...?" he asked quietly.

Linus did the usual nightime stuff, brushed his teeth etcetera, and exited the bedroom to catch Helen scanning around outside through the window. "And I thought I was being paranoid." he smiled quietly walking beside her, putting an arm around her instinctively, looking out of the window.
"So... " he said looking at her, a warm honest expression on his face. "... you nervous about this?" he asked, then added quickly to clarify, "Tomorrow, not the prospect of sleeping in the same bed as me." he laughed slightly and stuck his tongue out.

Linus smiled and caught the pillow that Helen threw at him. "I was joking." he laughed sticking his tongue out.
He stood up and walked to his bag fishing out a toothbrush, and walked towards the bathroom, passing slightly closer to Helen than was neccasary. "Back in a sec..." he said walking into the bathroom.

"I'll have to think about it..." Linus nodded, he needed time to think about the MI5 prospect. Maybe this trip with Helen would change his mind.
He grinned and laid on the bed striking a mock 'sexy' pose, and tried to make some kind of dodgey purring noise, before cracking up and bursting out laughing. "Grinning I will be... but just to let you know I normally sleep naked." he said, trying to paste a serious look on his face, biting the inside of his cheek to see Helen's reaction.

Linus smiled at her as her cheeks flushed slightly, and grinned uncontrolably at the comment about the MI5 chief, laughing. taking a small drink, almost choking as he yawned - Helen mentioning sleeping setting him off.
"Yea you're right. I..." he yawned again, cutting off whatever he was going to say as Helen walked into the bathroom, and he respectfully stayed away.
"About MI5... I dunno... it just seems such a straight and narrow job... and mean it has its perks I'm sure... this commando raid has to be pretty sweet... but... I dunno... me and desk jobs don't really cut it..." he shrugged slightly nonchantly taking off his shirt, and scooping the t-shirt he wore to bed normally out of his bag and putting it on.
He hesitated for a second. "How we working the sleeping arrangements...?" he asked slightly awkwardly. He could tease about it, but... the teasing aspect had sort of drained from him for the night... he was tired and just wanted to get to sleep.

Linus almost pushed for a weapon... but he didn't want to seem to eager - in case she thought he was going to doublecross her. "Helen... I grew up in a fairly rough neighbourhood... And I've pissed off some pretty important and influencial people in my time... Danger doesn't bother me that much." he winked at her. "But I could get used to being protected by a cutey such as yourself." he grinned slyly, moving slightly closer to her.
"Wow... me working for MI5..." he blinked slightly, his face becomming more serious and he shrugged, draining his glass and placing the glass by the bed. "That'd be... weird... I dunno..." he trailed off and laid back on the bed looking at the plain white ceiling. "Would you really want to work for MI5 Lexington?" He asked himself metally, "Putting your talents to good use, for Queen and Country and all the bull that you enjoyed watching in those spy films..." Linus sighed and rose, walking to the bar to pour himself another drink.

Linus gazed at Helen curiously. She seemed to be avoiding his subtle-ish flirting, and it seemed to be making her uncomfortable.
"You make it seem like I can't defend myself." he said, only slightly indignantly. "I want a gun too you know, you ain't having all the fun." he stuck his tongue out at the MI5 Op, before listening to her explanation of how she got involved in the whole Specials Ops thing. She looked uncomfortable explaining it.
"Sounds pretty kewl, I was thinking about the army when I was a kid, as a computer engineer or something, but I got kicked out of college for hacking into Scotland Yard, I was young and kinda stupid, I escaped any kind of sentence luckily, but it ballsed up my education. I'm envious kinda - army musta been fun. And then, getting headhunted? Wow you musta been good." He sounded impressed, and he genuinely was, the army wasn't the easiest things ot get into.

He grinned, and resisted the urge to pat her on the head and say "bless" - he did like full use of his hands.
"Well... as long as one of us knows where we're going thats ok..." He replied absently, his eyes tracing the lines of the map, and her route, trying to find fault with it just out of habit. "Looks good... but we won't know what its like out there till we get there right?" he asked looking up at her, noticing she wasn't making eye contact.
He laughed at her comment about the laptop. "Helen I've dropped this thing down a flight of concrete stairs before and it didn't break... somehow..." he scratched his head, and shrugged, "I think it'll be ok." he had another sip of his drink and looked at her again - as she still poured over the maps.
"How'd you get into this special Agent business?" he asked quietly and subtley, in such a tone of voice that she'd probably answer him even if she wouldn't want to.

Linus lowered his head, taking what Helen said as a scolding. "Yes mum..." he said quietly biting his lip, keeping his head down, unable to look at her for fear of laughing.
He eyebrows knitted at the last part of what she said next. "Don't mean what? The date thing?" he leaned back on one hand, looking up at her slightly incredilously. "'course I do... I don't say things like that lightly ya know." he tipped his drink at her. "But lets leave my ability to drink you under the table for afterwards eh?" he winked and craned his neck to look.
"... the hell...? THAT's Raccoon? Missey I hope you know where you are going because I don't fancy trawling through ALL of that blindly to find it."

Linus grinned and swayed about playfully... "Ah'll bee... ::hic:: fiiiiine..." he waved his drink about then laughed and smiled goofily at Helen. "Helen dear, I could drink this three times and then only start to feel the effects, and remember... I almost got into MI5 twice when drunk." he winked.
"As for showing me how much you can drink after this... you, my Lady, have yourself a date." the hacker nodded, carefully wording it that way.
He took another sip of the drink as the contents of the envelope spilled out onto the bed - building floor plan maps and the like - and Linus looked on with interest.

Linus laughed. "Aww... is our big ass-kicking Helen not one to hold her drink?" he said teasingly, pouring himself a glass of JD and lemonade and sitting down on the bed next to Helen.
"Normally I'd drink it neat." he said, regardless of whether Helen was interested or not. "The lemonade dilutes it though... so you don't get drunk as quick." he took a sip of what had turned into a triple JD.
"So... come on... What have you got to brief me on?" he asked - they could get to pleasentries afterwards.

"Actually... screw the beer..." Linus exulted fishing a bottle of Jack Daniels out of the refridgerated unit. "This works for me!" he opened the bottle, then looked back into the bar for either some cola or some... There - Linus grabbed at the lemonade and put it on the counter top.
"I'm done." he laughed, putting one hand on Helen's shoulder for support, and because he wanted to... "Behave Linus... you haven't even drunk anything yet. He chided himself.
"What are you having?" he asked, idlely glancing at Helen.

Linus nodded slightly but wasn't convinced, they were close enough to Raccoon... and this was the last hotel before the city...
"Or maybe..." A little voice in his head whispered, "...maybe you are just being paranoid."
Linus silently swatted the voice away, but it was probably close to the truth. He could be paranoid from stress at times.
He followed her into the room, silently cheering at the sight of the mini bar.
He dumped his bag beside Helen's and then went straight to it, and opened it. "You want a drink? I know we can't have much because of driving but...?" he fished out a beer for himself and looked at her questioningly.

Linus watched the transaction with interest, the credit card couldn't be hers, it was probably Umbrella funded. Which mean's that Umbrella could trace where ever they were, whenever they used it. He wasn't keen on that idea.
He lowered his arm to his side as she signed her name, winking to the Manager guy as he placed his hand on Helen's lower back, grinning wickedly.
He removed his hand hurridly as she straightened and mentioned about the key, but the man had gone back to whatever he was watching on it, and gave her an apologetic look as she turned to him - he didn't mind winding her up, but he had caught something in her face moments before... but he couldn't put his finger on it.
"Well my lovely, to bed eh?" he said, slightly louder than neccesary, winking as the manager turned slightly to look at them, a knowing leer on his face. He lowered his voice as they mounted the stairs, "Something isn't right about him..." he whispered in Helen's ear. "Something about him... sets my teeth on edge..." he glanced at the manager of the hotel again, before the wall hid him from view, and Linus followed Helen to their room.

Linus raised his eyebrows, smiled and nodded to confirm it was fine by him. He had caught a look of Helen's face in a mirror in the foyer and she looked downcast. He decided he'd lay off a bit, and pulled her slightly closer against him absently, reassuringly.
"Sounds fine to me hun." he smiled at her then the innkeeper.
