We heard from the gloom and doom crowd, (Liberals), You know the same people who said the polution was going to cause the next Ice Age,,,opps green house. The oceans are going to dry up, lets see about 20 years ago. Now lets hear the other side. Look not just some numbers and nameless people, but names, what they do and where they do it at. hmmmmmm different First a few people who disagree with Kyoto, on top and the myths on the climate on bottom. www.envirotruth.org/myth_experts.cfmThe temperture is risen drastically!!!! gasp www.envirotruth.org/myth2.cfmAbout this movie the enviromental wackos think is true, about as true to life as Lord of the Rings. (LOTR is a better movie not just filler for hollywood.) www.townhall.com/columnists/richlowry/rl20040601.shtmlOk for you who can't read it unless they have the noble peace prize here you go. www.sepp.org/heidelberg_appeal.html

The 62 scientists DID NOT WIN A PEACE PRIZE!!! FOR GOD'S SAKE LEARN TO READ!!! THEY WON NOBEL PRIZES FOR SCIENCE!!!! WHICH IS NOT A NOBEL PEACE PRIZE!!!!!! THE PEOPLE WHO AWARD NOBEL PEACE PRIZES ARE NOT THE SAME PEOPLE WHO AWARD NOBEL SCIENCE PRIZES!!!!!!!! Sheesh!
About the movie though. Yup, bad science. Not even close. Anyone who thinks The Day After Tomorrow is based on science also probably thinks that Bruce Willis really went into space to nuke a comet.
Look, you can stick your head in the sand all you like. Environmental issues are not fiction, they are not scare tactics made up like Republican lies to invade another country. They are the best answers we have right now.

I always use this little metaphor in these things.
Take a walk in the forest. Find a mushroom of a kind you don't know anything about. Would you eat it?
Look at our environment. Scientists can't agree on whether CO2 is damaging anything or whether the damage is serious or just something we don't need to worry about, so technically we don't know exactly which of them it is. Why not be careful then... just in case?

The problem is, you seem top assume we have to have a problem before we take measures. It seems find and resonable for me to take preventative measures. Should they be like Kyoto? Not in my opinion - good ideas, bad implementation.
