You know I have to ask this question
are you against gay marrages for a purely religious perspective?
or is there some deeper issue I'm missing in all this?

Well Blackstar mainly (No I can't spell his current user name damn it)
You seem to think the idea is a tax con which is more or less legitimate stance I suppose. Not a particularly moral stance IMO but a legitimate one.

The majority of people in the South didn't want to free slaves. Guess they weren't bigots either. The majority of people who could vote didn't want women to vote for a very long time, guess they were right. Since when does majority rule have ANYTHING to do with social issues?
Sorry, your relgious beliefs mean absolutely zero when it comes to crafting laws. The First Ammendment is pretty clear on that. If the only reason you have against gay marriage is a religious one, then, you have no leg to stand on.

From gay marriage to slave ownership. Now that a good reach in left field.

I think he's using it as an example as how the majority of voters tend to be bloody morrons.
There is an easy and fool proof method of picking out an intelligent voter and a morronic voter.
Just ask them what they want. If they reply they want greater government spending and a tax cut they are morrons. It doesn't take a genius to see you can't have both at the same time.

Sorry, your relgious beliefs mean absolutely zero when it comes to crafting laws. The First Ammendment is pretty clear on that. If the only reason you have against gay marriage is a religious one, then, you have no leg to stand on. To answer a FEW questions: 1) Our laws are BASED on religion in the first place! Thats what our founding fathers drew thier inspirationn from. Prime examples: a)'You shall not murder.' 750.316 First degree murder; penalty; definitions. Sec. 316.(1) A person who commits any of the following is guilty of first degree murder and shall be punished by imprisonment for life: b)'You shall not steal.' IDENTITY THEFT PROTECTION ACT (EXCERPT) Act 452 of 2004 445.65.new Prohibited acts; violations; defense in civil action or criminal prosecution; burden of proof. c)'You shall not commit adultery.' THE MICHIGAN PENAL CODE (EXCERPT) Act 328 of 1931 750.30 Adultery; punishment. Sec. 30. Punishment—Any person who shall commit adultery shall be guilty of a felony; and when the crime is committed between a married woman and a man who is unmarried, the man shall be guilty of adultery, and liable to the same punishment. d) 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.' JUSTIFICATION OF SURETIES (EXCERPT) Act 179 of 1885 15.102 Official bonds; oath of justification, penalty. Sec. 2. Such oath of justification shall be administered by some officer authorized by law to administer oaths, and any person knowingly or willfully making any false statement of his pecuniary responsibility in such justification shall be guilty of perjury and liable, upon conviction thereof, to the penalty of perjury. These Commandments were were brought over by our Founding Fathers beliefs. As for this: Then we are allowed to break all the above laws?? You shoot yourself everytime Hussar with that way of thinking!! Go and kill someone in front of a police station and say" You cant arrest me under the 1st Amendmant" They will laugh at you first then throw you in jail faster them white on rice!!!!

So I draw from that statement that religious objections are your ONLY problem with gay marrages?
You know I can hardly be bothered to argue with that, its such an illogical view point for an unbeliever like myself to contemplate that its hard to reason against it.
No offence to anyone that believes but what RIGHT do you (Blackstar) believe you can force the teachings of the Bible on anyone else. By what RIGHT do you claim that in a country that preaches religious freedom you have the RIGHT to enforce a totaly religious law. And by what RIGHT do you have to decide that, that particular section must be held above your Lord's own commandment to 'love your brother.'
how can you justify sticking your nose into other people's business. I mean its not like their hurting anyone by being gay rather than straight is it.

First comparing homosexuals to owning slaves. The two have nothing in common. except to the left, some how.
What the will of the people what. That's is what they get. The subject of gay marriage was put to a vote in 11 states, it failed. Might I add put to a vote in the proper fashion. Not throwing a temper tantrum, and thumbing your nose.
"Will the laws don't suit me, I'll ignore them."
Why should the country change laws just to suit less than one percent of the population. Fine you want to do things with the same sex, fine. I don't want to hear about keep it to your self.
I put the question at you Challenger.
Why should non-homosexuals have to put up with the meaningless law they dream up and be constantly told to go along with their way of life?

yes I see your point.
Its just the law in question only affects the 1% that want it changed.
Unless you can point out how a law banning same sex marrages affects straight people?

Ever heard the statement "give a inch, take a mile."
Ok they make gay marriage legal. What's stopping people from demanding, I want to marry my daughter. I want 15 wives of any age.
Think it's absurd, were talking about humans here.

Simple, its not natural. 2 women or 2 men ALONE cannot concieve a child! Living in the trees, eating your dinner while it's still wriggling is the natural state of man, therefore the unnaturalness argument scores zero points with me.
