Sorry Gal, I refuse to do other people's research for them. If people want to spout off and look like a complete idiot when a three second Google search will find the information, it's not my job to stop them. I will not bother trying to inform people who stand on soapboxes and scream at the top of their lungs while sticking fingers in their ears to prevent themselves from hearing anything that might not jive with their narrow minded, tiny world view. You want information, ask. Better yet, take a look around. The internet is a wonderful place, not just the right wing, bigotted, small minded, ultra nationalist corners.

There you go about research again. Is it me or are you the only one saying that. hmmmmm. I don't remember asking anyone to do research. There is plenty of proof the ennviro-wackos are out in left field, on alot of things. Oh wait, I know now. I didn't get the authorized liberal enviromental-wacko stuff. I got the factual, real life, people who actually have carreers in climate, weather and enviroment. Instead of people who geuss at the enviroment. Silly me.

You came up with the idea that only certain qualified scientists disagree with global warming as an issue. You then make the claim that anyone who agrees with global warming does not have the credentials to make that claim.
I listed a rather large number of people, some of whom actually are climatologists and work in related fields.
You seem to feel that there is enough information to make an informed decision despite the assertion of pretty much every scientist that we don't. Again, please stop reading White House press releases for your science news.
Anyway, wake me up when you have something interesting. This is the same boring stuff over and over again. At least Elros finds stuff that isn't massively biased one way or the other.

Oh so the truth comes out finally.
I'm suppose to supply all these sources, back up everything with facts. But the same doesn't apply to you.
Ahh, we see now.
Twisting words again I see. Let's revisit the past.
Someone came up with a bunch of guys no names, no discription of what they do, (oh they got awards they give to confirmed terrorist) or where they do it. They just disagree with President Bush and say there's global warming.
You can say that all you want. If you want it to have any credit, just saying unknown sources said, doesn't give it any credit in the consverative world.
And yes they are wrong.

It's not my fault people can't keep abreast of current events. The reference I made was hardly obscure. Anyone who's done any amount of reading in the field would know exactly what I'm talking about, considering it was front page news for quite a while.
But, hey, that would require reading something other than White House press clippings.

You keep reading and believing what you what. regardless. Let's see in 20 the left will flip back to the polution casuing the next ice age again. and of course that will the republicans fault. Ok, I give up People who get their facts from tabiod rags and divorce themself from reality. The world is going to explode tomorrow. Amazing, I look at the enviromental wacko, and just laugh. It doesn't matter how many times your proved wrong, who proves you wrong. "As long as we have good intendtions, it doesn't matter what we say. We mean well."I am sure, no wait I remember I did find people who actually believe that stupid movie "The day after tomorrow." Is actually real. "It could happen" At this point and time you look at the people shake your head and pity them. I wonder if they remember to feed themselves. Since I been alive lets visit the absurd claims of the left, who claim to be intelligent. At this rate all the forests in this country will be gone. (still there) All the oceans and seas will dry up (Still There) All the animals will die. (Still there) We will have no clean water to drink. (What are you drinking then.)

Why do you say that the Left is making these claims? Many of those predicting the ice age were most certainly not on the left. Y'know, scientists used to say that diseases were caused by vapours. Does that mean that all doctors are lefties? Scientists used to claim lots of things that weren't true. They were using the information that they had available at the time. Does that mean that all prior scientists were lefties? Does that mean that all current scientists are wrong? Oh, and about the Nobel prizes. I guess we should stop listening to Einstein, cos he won a prize. Paul Dirac too. Bohr. Heck, Hawking is up for one, so I guess he's lost all credibility too.

Hi there. I hope you don't mind my butting into this argument, (which seems to span darn near every other thread in the Wyrm's Den).
To be honest, I'm left scratching my head a bit here.....
Galadon, I'm not quite sure what you have against the Nobel prize....I honestly don't think I've met anyone who is actually against the Nobel prize. People tend to be against things like genocide, poisoning the public water supply, higher taxes, etc. But the Nobel prize?
At any rate, if you distrust the theories and opinions of a group of people who are considered to be the cream of the crop in their respective fields (I know, not considered by you, but nonetheless, they are considered) its your right.....I'm just curious, unless you're qualified to do your own research (no, I'm not talking internet, and reading articles that can be posted online with no regard for scientific integrity) I mean do your own research (atmospheric, meteorological, etc. etc.) and determine if there is or isn't a threat posed by human consumption and behavior (especially in developed countries) then who exactly are you willing to listen to?
It also seemed to me (maybe I misread you) that you are stating you don't feel humans are actually capable of seriously damaging an eco system?
If so, maybe we should start a new thread about the Marshall Islands, or Tuvalu, or....
if you don't like the south pacific...maybe you want something more domestic;
like electronics waste
or the numbers behind his clear skies act or....
maybe you don't want to hear about trees and air and water at all? Maybe my talking about them immediately makes me a 'whacko'?
How about the reduction of regulations and safety mechanisms at chemical factories and nuclear power plants (I'm happy to provide google links, if its really necessary) - btw, isn't he conducting some kind of war on terror?
Needless to say, we've got plenty to talk about when it comes to this administration....
Also, one more thing;
You said "At this rate all the forests in this country will be gone. (still there)
All the oceans and seas will dry up (Still There)
All the animals will die. (Still there)
We will have no clean water to drink. (What are you drinking then.)"
I don't think any of those Nobel Laureates claimed we will soon turn the entire planet into a dry husk......but there are problems with water contamination, there are endangered species, there is a change in oceanic patterns, our forests are shrinking.....
Maybe you don't care. I don't know. If so, it doesn't make you a conservative, or republican, or a business man....just uncaring (I don't believe that you don't care though.)

I look at the history how the NOBEL prize came to be. Just because you give someone a Nobel prize means I automatically believe what they say. nope. They gave one to Arafat, who is a comfirmed terrrorist. So because some misguided, confused people gave Arafat a medal he is all of a sudden a good guy right. I got a bridge to sell you. I never suggested people couldn't pollute. You can it's easy. That's why you have laws, that are only good if enforced. Plenty of people, both well known and regular, have said these things enviromental gloom and doom. Yet I look out the window, yep thoose are trees. According to the left all the trees should be gone now. The oceans dry up. In the late 70's an actor said that. Did I believe hom, no, will others because he is an actor, Maybe. The left make absurd claims, all the time, when they are proven wrong by many people the usual happens. Gloom and Doomand go on the attack. We have clean drinking water in this country. Is it because of the eco terrorist green peace doing anything to clean it. No, we have industry that makes drinkable water. We have red woods in California. Are they there because some ego manic tree hugger pretended to save them. No, the government saves them. I still think it's damn funny a tree that's a couple thousand years old is only there because of a guy who couldn't succeed in anything but being a nut. We have the left making claims that are not only wrong but absurd. I have met plenty of liberals with selective hearing and selective memory. (That's means they believe what they want and what fits the liberal mantra) Who can tell be what the weather is going to be like next year? Answer (NO ONE) You can predict (a nice word for guessing) but you can't tell what the future is. So the weather is going along like predicted and what happens. (An example, but it really happened) In the Phillpines a volcano erupted, a pretty good eruption. People were inform by those with the knowledge that the weather patterns will be changed for the next 5 to 7 years. The weather paterns did change because of the volcano. What did I hear from liberals, "HELP HELP the sky is falling. See the pollution we cause is destroying the earth." I inform them of the volcano and the fact that volcano's eject more ozone damaging material in a eruption than human could do in 7 years. What is the only thing the liberal heard. "We are going to destroy the earth in 7 years." At that points you just shake your head, pity them and walk away. "The Ozone in the Antartic is expanding." gasp, shock, amazment. Did any of these wackos notice the ozone hole getting bigger and gets smaller (but they never say the smaller part.) It's been doing this for a long time. hmmmmmm It's been the hottest year since,,,,,,,when ever. (and yet it's snowing in places that don't normally get snow) This has happened in a few years in my past. I just wait for how the liberals dance around this one. Oh that's right we have the new saying coming. It's getting hotter so the ice is melting in the north and south and that makes the water colder and makes it snow. (I really had someone tell me this, and he was serious.) lets look at that, the planet gets hotter melting the ice, which is like putting a ice cube in a large tub of water. Making the water colder to make it snow. In a hotter planet. There is a absurd moive out last year that tells this story. believe it or not some people actually believe it. See what happens when you use emotions instead of facts to explain things. I'm 47, in forty seven years the earth has been destroyed how many times by the left. Ido give credit to the Hare Krishnas. On a TV show they said "We stop predicting the gloom and doom, end of the world, etc. etc. We got tired of looking foolish."

Yup, the Nobel Peace Prize, which has pretty much NOTHING to do with Nobel Prizes for science, has been awarded to such notable terrorists as Lester Pearson, Mother Teresa, Kim Dae Jung and Jimmy Carter. ;D But of course, since Gal already knows that the Nobel Peace Prize and the Nobel Prize for science has nothing to do with eachother, Galadon knows that his point is well, pointless. ((And I know he knows, because I'M THE ONE WHO TOLD HIM!)) On the other hand, Gal should keep up with current research before waving away leftie fears. And lookie there, from an American source no less.

Jimmy "peanut head" Carter, a man who should have stayed in Georgia. His own cabinet members said he had absolutely no idea what he was doing as president. But then again his history speaks for him.
But Hussar puts a nice liberal slant to things. Since one person was a terrorist, THEY ALL MUST BE TERRORIST. This is the all or nothing part of liberals.
Like I said before their are some who just toss out numbers and titles like we are suppose accept it, hands down, no questions asked, blind faith.
Well 62 unnamed people who have the nobel prize say Bush is destroying the world. Well damn, that puts that arguement to bed. Nothing more need to be said (they have a metals from nobel.)
I have known people with degrees, titles and awards. But when it came to common sense. They would starve to death if they had to buy food with common sense.
lets see, we have a man who is a professor of climatology in a university.
and next
We have an unnamed man, who dislikes Preident Bush, (gee would that be an obvivious bias) who said President Bush is destroying the world.
Let see which one would I pick to get information from about the enviroment, hmmmmmmm, Being on the right side of life, conservative, I would pick the professor. But that's just me. Not just one but many of them.

How are they unnamed when they signed a petition? Kinda difficult to remain nameless. And, you know their names since you can go back a page and see them.
