The Faces Of Many
I am many faces I am timeless and without time Look upon my face and see mortality Look into my eyes and see the infinate For I am the face you know And the stranger at your door You know me by name And by many names you do not I am the only one you hear With many voices I speak I am the voice you hear in you ear And the silence you long for in the night I walk all paths I cross all centuries I am a constant with all things I am your guide Blinding you with light I am over your shoulder Hiding in the shadows I walk by your side in your fantasies As I stalk you in your dreams All knowledge is lost in the reflection of time All that you seek lies in the mysteries of the unknown For as you awake from your dreams While life plays out its song I am the face you see So familiar and strange For I am you as you are now Who you were lost in the sands of time And who will be in the darkness of time yet to come

A most excellent poem...it has a good rythmn, yet the words are startling as you take them in, and realize it's as if a stalker is telling you exactly what they are doing to you and why.
Very good Ryhla....you catch the reader's attention and hold it.

Thanks...
Here's another one.
In Full Circle
Sleep young maiden For tomarrow you weep Tears of joy, tears of sorrow, tears of pain For life has come sweet as the babe And death has left on swift wings
Sleep young maiden For tomarrow you die To become the mother of life As the corne is left behind And youth gracefully fades away
Sleep young maiden For tomarow you're born As the circle starts anew For life begins as it ends And starts its the path once again

I see the "maiden, mother, crone" images in this new poem. Life's a circle.

Very well done Rhyla. Excellent work!!!
This is (if you knew it) surprising from me - in general I do not particularly enamored of poetry. (except for a very few cases)
As LWW said I esp noticed and enjoyed the Maiden/Mother/Crone imagery in the second work.

Thanks. Out of the ones I have online, that one is the favorite in general by many people.

As It Once Was
For love I once had I go it alone' And my love has gone home
For the life I once lived I live it alone And now life is on it's own
For life and love Together they come And bring the wayward son
Be it king or knave Alone or as one Together they will be undone
