Oshun Speaks
In river's curve and current I have come. In dancing feet that love the beating drum. In laughter and in beauty I remain, In ropes of coral beads and sugar cane. Not with some stern commandment do I speak, Nor for abject submission do I seek. Not with a heavy measure do move, Nor for a sacrifice do I appove. My joy lies not in worship but in art: I only bid you do as I have done. As water seeks its level, so the heart Flows onward toward reunion with the One. Look not unto the end, but to the start--- This race you win as soon as you've begun.

February
I melt the ice in river and stream I live in the buds as they begin to grow And in the crocus beneath the snow The wind in the hollow carries my call As I dance in the blue shadows of nightfall I shorten the nights, I lengthen the days You see my changes in so many ways I am ancient, but I am young Once again my cycle has begun I hold the promise of spring yet to be I am the Earth Mother--strong and free

Of heaven and of hell, of yin and yang, The wise men tell. A lost soul in the dark May cling to hope and follow Ti-Tsang Wang. I meet the smiling monk and see the spark, A shining pearl that lights the shadowed lane. His footsteps make no sound and leave no mark. Pray, lead me from this sallow, bleak domain For I have missed my way and cannot find A door to any more enlightened plane. The key to this may lie within my mind- Desire's end, as I have heard before- But logic looks both ways, and trust is blind. Your guidance, Ti-Tsang Wang, I now implore: Come take my hand and lead me through the door.
