Yes, this will be where I recommend records to the common folk, thus saving thee from the horrors of mainsteam... in short I will post about the stuff I hear. Wilco-A Ghost is Born I`ve always associated Wilco with well.. boring country. Luckily they have a much more weird(ie. good) approach to A Ghost is Born. The best way of describing it, I guess, is to say a form of freeform-rock with Tweedy`s vocals occasionally coming up to the surface. Good album, though some might be freaked out by the 10 minutter of low noise there is, in the end of the record. Under Byen-Det er mig der holder træene sammen Danish band, I might as well start by translating it: Under the City-It is me who holds the trees together. Incredible band, I dont think I have heard anything quite like it. They use alot of different instruments including piano, cello and saw With them they create a very organic mesmorizing soundscape, with a bjorkish(though you can say that about nearly everyone) singer in front. She shifts from childish to whispering to screaming, at all time sounding like she is singing into your ear. A masterpiece quite simply, and even if you dont speak danish, you should buy it anyway. You won`t regret it. more to come...

Ryan Adams-Rock`n`Roll No not Bryan Adams, but Ryan and much better than anything that old bugger can come with. More or less a alt. country wonderboy, Ryan Adams gives it as rockstar on Rock`n`Roll. He is pretty succesful most of the time, though some songs like Note to Self: Dont Die and Shallow. Tracks that really drag down the overall impression of the cd. Luckily the good songs are in majority and in the end, its a good rock album.
Tori Amos-Strange Little Girls Since I heard Scarlet`s Walk, Tori Amos has been my favorite female singer along with Bjork. On Strange Little Girls, she covers songs written by men, among them Depeche Mode`s Enjoy the Silence. Though I haven`t heard the original, this version has to be at least its equal. I don`t know most of the original versions, But there are no bad tracks on STG. So I presume she has done a good job, making them her own. Anyway a really awesome record, worth whatever price it has these days.
