As my Co-worker Lady Winter Wolf is well aware I’m prone to these little bursts of curious learning which sometimes prompts me to sit before a computer and bring up my favorite search engine and type in stuff like “Atoms and our universe” which then leads me to read about stuff like protons, quarks, and the theorized vibrating string which lie inside the quarks and vibrate in a theorized 5th dimension!!! Heh. I’ve also found a number of decent teaching sights on metallurgy but enough of science this time my self-educational urge said to me “Eddas!!!” which are the Icelandic poems of the gods of Asgard and Vanaheim. Naturally this appeals to me as you may have seen I have more than a passing interest in all things Nordic and Viking. I have found in my digitized perusals an excellent sight entitled Asatru for beginners which even if your not interested in worshiping the Vana or the Aesir is still a wealth of information about the religion itself and some great historic and mythological links as well. Here’s the link www.asatru-u.org/beginner/asau-beginner-outline.htm#part1bReading a number of the links in this outline spawned another idea within the dark corners of my prolific brain, the learning of OLD NORSE!!! A must for me and in so saying I have found an online beginners course for that as well. www.hi.is/~haukurth/norse
