Taking the dagger from the insane mage, Avana ensures everyone is ready, and uses the dagger as a key as previously determined. Pulling it free, she dashes into the opening with bare seconds to spare, her cloak flying behind her as she turns around to see just how close she was. Her elven sight allows her to see well in this darkness, as she lets her senses guide her. Listening carefully beyond the noise of the party she notices a strange sigh to the east, but focusses carefully the trapped door in front of them.

Suddenly, a set of stairs appears in front of Ignitius.
"Holy Tyr in a blender, where th' hell'd th' stairs come from, heheheh? I thoughts I was off them magic 'shrooms..."
He then sees Avana overhead, dagger shoved into the nearby pillar.
"Oh. Heheheh.", he says as he's pushed through the door onto the stairs. He manages to pick himself up and spit the taste of stone from his mouth. He looks up to see a mark on the wall next to the step just below the one where he landed, and he cackles in a relieved manner. Then the lights go out as the door closes behind the party.
"Hey, who killed th' lights, heheheh?", Iggy says as he prepares to snap his fingers. He stops just a moment beforehand as the words of an earlier conversation register in his half-baked mind.
Iggy lowers his hand.
"Whew, lucky I remembered that, heheheh?", he says.

Keely, sits and watches quietly, while contemplating.
She scouts out the area in an attempt to view the target.
When she believes she can strike, she let's loose with a bolt.

(OCC - Ummm, Shades....are you in the same RPG as the rest of us? What target are you talking about? Why are you still sitting out in the clearing while everyone else is going down into the dungeon?) *shakes head* ----------------------------------------------------------------------- (OCC - Gemstone and Avana...which way have you chosen for your party to go? Iggy....I would refrain from using any fire until the party gets into an open area...maybe.)

Greghoul takes Gemstone's sunrod and puts it between his teeth and follows the party down into the tunnel. As he descends he gets a firm grip on his sword and shield.

After the group made it past the traped door, they entered a room with two hallways, one to the left and one to the right...
Dripping water can be heard down the hallway to the left,...
A moaning sound can be heard down the hallway to the right...
Gemstone looks down one hallway, then the next... She turns towards the group and wispers:
"This place may be quite large... and we should stay together, But the Master ordered me here for a purpose... My unique abilitys at stealth and subterfuge will keep me safe down here, if I am alone...
If we head down the east corridor, we are likely to encounter a fight... But what is down the west corridor is unknown to us...
I would suggest that I use my abililtys to go ahead and see what is down each hallway, then come back and have us decide which way we should proceed..."
*Looks at Avana and Crista*
"What course of action would you recommend?"

Blade inwardly groans at Gemini's boasts. "Find out what's there," the elf advises. "But if there are hostiles we're gonna have to deal with them sooner or later, we canny risk them following us."

Greghoul manages to speak around the sunrod. "But if some one needs our help down there," points toward the moaning, "we might be able to squeeze a gold or two out of they're rescue."

Gemstone listens to Avana and Greghoul and nods her head in agreement...
Gemstone makes sure that her hood is pulled up, and tightly secures her cloak...
With a small step back and half twist of her waist, Gemstone disappears into the darkness...
Gemstone will be as cautious as possible, and see whats down each corridor, then report back to the group with her findings, so that they can decide the best course of action.

*The western corridor goes 100', it is damp, covered with lichen, the floor is slippery and there are no handholds anywhere along the walls. At the end, it opens up to a 100' by 100' room; the smell of rotting flesh is intense here. There is a pool (40' round) of liquid in the center of the room, slime covers the top of the still liquid.
Looking across the pool, at the west wall, a door of solid wood can be seen. In each corner of the room, there is a chest with, what looks to be, bundles of rags against them.*
------------------------------------------------------------------------
*The eastern corridor also goes for 100'. As one walks along the corridor, the sound like deep sighing begins to take on the structure of whispering, but one cannot make out the exact words. At the end, there is an iron porticulis down, blocking the corridor...you cannot see what is beyond, but you can hear movement.*

After scouting both corridors, Gemstone returns to the group and quietly informs them of her findings...
Then Gemstone wispers:
"Down the corridor with the portcullis, there may be a secret switch or button, hidden somewhere, that lifts the portcullis... I diddn't take the time to search for one... Then again, we may be able to force it open, but that would undoubtedly cause alot of noise unless we used magic to silence the sounds... And we may still be detected by whatever creature is on the other side...
Down the other hallway, I have a feeling that the room may be trapped, perhaps with some kind of living plant creatures, or with some kind of acid... I could be wrong... I'm not certain... But I would advise extream caution if we choose that path..."
*Gemstone looks around at everyone here and continues to wisper*
"So then, which we shall we go?"

Considering the creatures that attacked Alyssa and Tal when we's were at that village, I'm not liking the idea of water.....but those chests. I'd hate to leave here without a nice bobble or two for me collection.
Gem, ye got another of them sunrod's there to toss beyond the porticulis...might give us a better idea of what's there.
*All this time, Juju has remained quiet as he observed Iggy. As much as he would protect his charge, he understood that this quest must be completed to move Iggy upon his learning trail. He nuzzled his little head against Iggy's own, and sighed.*
