a while ago i bought the manual of the planes book. the Pc's are almost done with the adventure they are in right now and since the caimpaign will be dragginf them through many of the planes later i figured i would drag them through a few first so they get the feel of diffrent planes but i can't decide which should be first tell me what you think and remember there doesn't have to be any real plot to it my pc's are often just fine with exploring new places.

Umm, Ysgard is always nice... you can put them in extreme situations, and when they die... they wake up the next morning.

the elemental planes arn't too bad if they are prepared, ie: rings of fire elemental resistance for fire elemtal plane, etc.

Olympus, or Aborea as it may be called as it has an abundance of good helpful things but also nasty Greek myth evils.

If you're going with Planescape, start either on Sigil or the Outlands. However, if you're just going with Manual of the Planes, etc. I'd go with one of the evil planes (unless you have paladins/rangers - that could get ugly). Baator (Avernus, in particular), has an extremely cosmopolitan nature, since there are thousands of races who are willing to engage in a little trade, and adventuring. There are numerous job opportunities, the intrigue makes for great role-playing, and not to mention there's plenty of unwarranted danger (though not too much - remember the rules of the planes: no matter how strong you are, there is ALWAYS someone or something stronger). The good planes tend to get a bit boring considering how intolerant the deva are of neutrals, and the neutral planes can get extremely dangerous considering the undiscriminating nature of the natives.

Try running them around the Outlands through the various gate cities to the other planes. They're not THE planes, but they'll certainly get a taste of them. Acheron would be a visual experience... Or Mechanus. I have a Planescape PBMB in play right now which will basically...oh never mind. I'm not gonna give anything away in case any or 'em are visiting these boards.
