'Thinks like a Taker, talks like a Guvner. Still, it makes sense: it would be more just to punish those men, no? What have laws got to do with it? What have laws got to do with justice?'
K'Zan frowns.
'I apologise. I have let emotion cloud my judgement - I should not be getting involved.'
The Githzerai steps back, picks up his drink and surveys the bar.

The armored official glares at the githzerai as he sheaths his sword. He sticks the scabbard in his belt and takes Spec's bag of gold.
You want me to fine 3 guys for simply talking? Welcome to Sigil, berk. I don't care how "threatening" their tone was - toughen up. The laws protect their free speech and they are above me to question. If they were using mind tricks and the Art, that's a different story - get proof and take it to the Guvners. I'm done here.
The man finishes his drink in one swig, drops a few coppers on the table and leaves the bar.

The Modron sitting in the center table looks up, watching the 3 drunks return to the bar.
Pangolan! Atreus! he called out to them, bringing one finger up, pointing towards his left eye Afterwards.
He turns back to Selenya and Spec.
I apologize for my men. he says, in a voice completely lacking tone Sit down. I'll buy you two a meal. Error. Drink. I'll buy you two a drink.

After watching the whle event start Canderous sat. He was fine with taking the job, until he motioned for the two to come over. ~And it starts...If he has me work with a passive mage and a do gooder...~
Though his thoughts were on such things, Canderous' face was as unemotional as a gray stone wall. His eyes stayed on the Modron, waiting with the little patience as he had.

The Modron looked over to Canderous. He began to speak in Baatorian common.
Its rare to find bloods like you around these days. Those who've braved the Lower Planes and come out alive. From your demeanor, I detect the emotion of longing. Target: Baator. Likelihood... comput... Ignore. I might have a remedy for you by means of a mission that can get you there. Query: Are you interested?

Spec, as always, speaks in a monotone, unemotional voice...
To the Mercykiller on his way out the door Spec says, "Pray you don't set that bag down, berk. You may find it come up missing."
In response to K'Zan's statement Spec just stares for a moment before saying, "Justice...laws...I was just trying to keep my jink. It seems I failed. It happens sometimes. I'll make up for it...and then some."
Turning his gaze to the talking box, "Thanks, but no thanks, modron. I can manage my own poison."
He remains standing with his cloak closed around him again.

K'Zan shrugs.
'Merely trying to appeal to the philosophy of the berk's faction. A mistake.'

”Thank you, perhaps I’ll join you a little later.” The woman thrown over her shoulder rather coldly into the direction a strange mechanical creature, before turning her attention to the two men before her.
”Thank, both of you,” The woman said to them, this time in a warm and sincere tone, completely unlike the tone she used just a moment ago ”My name is Selenya.”
”If not for you,” Selenya said to K'Zan ”I fear I might have said something stupid to that law enforcer. Thank you for distracting me in right moment.”
”And if not for you,” Selenya said to Spec ”I have no doubt that it would come to killing the very moment before your timely intervention, and I am not sure that I wouldn’t be one of those who would lie dead on the tavern’s floor in a result. So, you very likely saved my life, and if there is something I can do for you, all you have to do is to name it. And at least...” Selenya handed the twenty gold pieces she still held to Spec ”...Please, accept them. You were fined because of me, and thus, it is me who should be paying this fine.”

To those directly involved he speaks, "I go by Spec. Those who know me refer to me as Spec the Damned."
He moves the gaze of his two colored eyes down to Selenya's outstretched hand bearing the twenty gold pieces, then back to her face. "I suggest you pocket your jink before somebody else you don't wish is drawn by it's visible presence. It is no good to me. The choice for me to wield my blades was my own, not yours. Therefor the price was mine."
He backs up against the wall and leans there scanning the room and studying the current inhabitants, including the party gathered. His eyes peer about in all directions and it's difficult to tell whether he is being paranoid or just overly observant. He keeps his cloak wrapped about him at all times.

Letting out a sigh of relief that the two didn't come, he turned to the modron and said in a quiet low tone, "You have my attention...continue"
He took yet another quick glance around the room, keping tabs on what was going on where. Though he knewhe was not in an danger at the moment, it was something he always did. It never hurts to know whaat was going on around him.

K'Zan nods to Selenya.
'Zerchai's kin bow to you.'
He pauses, and frowns.
'I am known as K'Zan, He-Who-Was-Full-Of-Shame.'

The modron removes a small slip of paper from his pack and slides it across the table towards Canderous. He continues to speak in Baatorian common.
I am Kaygor, a representative of the Outlands Mining Guild. The Guild is currently having difficulties in negotiating a settlement with a client in the town of Ribcage, the gate town to Baator. Though we have had many dealings with this particular client in the past, this time there appears to be other forces at work; ones that hinder our activities. I have thus been tasked with finding and hiring skilled bloods with experience on the Lower Planes. Payment in negotiable, though the terms of work are not. Sit down and we'll discuss the details.

Selenya stepped towards Spec, with gold still in her hand, and looked like she was about to say something, but changed her mind in the last moment.
”As you wish, Spec.” Selenya said, putting the gold back to her purse. ”But if there is something I can do to thank you for saving me, all you have to do is to name it. I know how rare a thing it is when somebody risks his life for the sake of a complete stranger, especially upon the planes.”
Then Selenya half-turned to K'Zan for a second and simply said "Greetings, K'Zan” before returning her attention back to Spec.
Selenya hopes that K’Zan will understand that she cannot constantly switch attention between Spec and him to keep conversation with both of them at the same time, and will take no offense in her bahaviour.
