<-- To Spec the Damned only -->
Spec flies across the table, drawing his own dagger and aiming towards the elf's throat. Lying across the table, Spec's dagger his nothing but air, and he table is suddenly upturned, throwing him to the ground. A hard boot smashes his hand, knocking the dagger out of his hand. A knee followed to his chest, as Naylo knelt atop Spec, pinning him to the ground, with Spec's own dagger against his throat.
Inventive, tiefling. he says, a smile creeping across his face However, the smartest thing to do would be to realize that you were defeated before you began.
Naylo stands up, throwing the dagger into the ground just shaving Spec's ear. He spins around and rights the table, pulling his own dagger from the surface and sheathing it on the way up.
You'll do. says the other elf I am Faniel the Viper. You will earn your title, mutt. For now, you will be merely Spec.

As Naylo gets up off his chest, Spec touches his ear where his own dagger nicked it, feeling the slight wetness of blood there. "I well knew the odds. But I didn't care. The fun was the challenge." He gets up and regains his composure, sheathing his own dagger somewhere within his cloak.
"So what now?"

We get passage to the Outlands. said Naylo Faniel and I have a few bodies to scrag, so we'll be gone until antipeak. You are to look for a man named Lucius Ferrick in this ward and tell him that I sent you. He should be able to get us a gate key.
Faniel's visage turns grim I expect you to have this by the the time we get back. We know who you are.
With that, the two elves march their way to the door and leave the bar.

Spec shows know hint of emotion at the elves' threat. He then gets up and approaches the barkeep.
"Lucius Ferrick. Have you heard of him?"

Seeing that Spec walked out of the darkness unhurt, Selenya picked up her backpack and staff, and followed K'Zan into the backroom.
The man (Spec) made a good display of not wanting to have anything to do with her despite helping her earlier, and if that was how he wanted it, so be it.

The bartender sees K'Zan and Selenya head towards the back room and rushes over, closing the door.
Sorry, cutters. Ye can't go there. If you're looking for Ferrick, he lives in the kip down the street. Its the stone building with a purple roof.

Spec nods and instantly heads out the door to the described building, and bangs on the door if it is closed. Otherwise he walks right in and calls out for Ferrick.

'Apologies. I misunderstood.'
K'Zan leaves the tavern and heads for Ferrick's house, muttering quietly as he goes:
'This has the stench of the Blood War about it.'

Spec leaves the bar with K'Zan behind him. Spec sees a well-built brick building with a purple shingled roof at the end of the corner and heads directly towards it.
As Spec and K'Zan approach the building, it seems to deteriorate before their eyes. First, the shiny bricks seem to fade and lose their gloss. Then the wooden door becomes gray and dull, gaining a rusty look. As they approach it more, the roof simply caves in, though no sound is emitted and passerbys just walk by without minding it at all. As you stand 10 feet from the house's perimeter, it is merely a shell of the bright structure that you saw from the entrance to the bar. The walls are torn and full of holes, seemingly ready to crash down. The door is cracked in two and just barely hangs from one shingle. On the wall next to the door is posted a Sigilian government demolition order that seems to be dated from ten years ago. It does not seem as if anyone can safely live here.

Spec slows his pace a bit at the site of the aging building. He stares in confusion, then continues to the door and looks in through the doorway.
Knowing not all is often as it seems here, he calls out, "Lucius Ferrick! If you are here, I have been sent by...Naylo..."
He waits to see what happens?

As Spec calls out his statement, his words reverberate between the two buildings flanking the demolished, filling the alley. A single pigeon, piqued to curiosity by the call, flies out from a rafter and onto a windowsill on what used to be the house's second floor, cocking its head at Spec. A soft wind blows through the alley, causing the broken door to swing open and then slam back to its frame. The door creaks open one more time, until it is half open. Inside, Spec can see a small, unfurnished room with no windows. It is shrouded in darkness.

'Ferrick?'

Spec steps into the house behind K'zan and flings open his cloac revealing his daggers in hands. He strides in past K'zan towards the dark-enshrouded room, stopping at its edge. He attempts to see if he can sense any evil beings in the vicinity (detect evil).
