<-- To K'Zan and Spec the Damned only -->
K'Zan calls out into the unfurbished room, but no one responds. A wind blows through the rubble, causing the door to slam shut again. You hear the sound of the door's latch falling into place. You are in pitch blackness.
Off to your side, from some indeterminate place, a small voice chuckles to itself.

Spec speaks to the chuckle, "Are you Ferrick?"
He listens for any sound...

K'Zan keeps his back to the wall, and scans the room.

K'Zan scans the room with his infravision. The walls and floor are a uniform, dull gray. The only heat source that he sees, other than himself, is Spec.

A loud, angry voice resonates through the room, reverberating on the walls.
Who are you! Rattle that bone-box! Or I'll rattle your bones and play them as pipe-organs!

Spec states in a calm and sureful tone, "I am called Spec. I have been instructed by Naylo to locate Lucius Ferrick. We require a portal key to the Outlands and I am told he can get one for us. Have I found him then?"

Spec casts a sideways glance at K'zan, speaking to the voice, "I'm not sure as to why the Gith followed me but it seems he was obviously not a part of the conversation between myself and Naylo and his...partner. "
Spec speaks solely to the voice now, "But like I said, I was told you would be able to obtain a key to the Outlands for us."

Selenya followed K’Zan and Spec out of the tavern, keeping behind them. She felt safe now when she was with two companions, both of whom looked capable warriors, and one of them (”Most likely Spec”, Selenya decided) seemed to be a wielder of magic as well; who but one of these two could conjure an illusion in attempt to distract those brutes away from her?
Selenya displayed only a hint of surprise when the building they were heading to began quickly transform from new and shiny into old and dull. This display looked impressive, but Selenya was sure that it was just an illusion or a removal of a previously casted illusion; whereas Selenya have seen far more impressive and deadly displays. Selenya flinched, as an image of a beautiful but deadly rainbow-colored wall came into her mind, a wall that slowly but surely moved towards her, forcing her and her friends to escape into uncertainness of a dark dungeon…
Selenya shrugged off her memories, only to see that K’Zan and Spec walked into now opened door, and hurried after them, getting inside just a moment before door closed.
As the door closed and Selenya found herself in total darkness, she felt a sudden stab of fear, aggravated by a sound of laughter nearby. However, it didn’t prevented Selenya from acting immediately…
”Close your eyes!” Selenya warned her companions, and after made a few quick gestures said loudly ”Light of day!”, while touching the upper end of her staff with her left hand and closing her own eyes a moment before the spell took effect…
[OOC:]
I am casting Daylight spell with the upper end of my staff as a target. This spell will light 60 ft. area around me with light as bright as a broad daylight, and will last for 2 hours (or until dispelled). Needless to say, those who haven’t closed their eyes in time will be temorary (until their eyes adjust) blinded by a quick shift from darkness to bright light (unless they are adapted to such instant changes of lighting conditions), but everybody had enough time to close their eyes after my warning (unless they neglected it, or couldn’t hear it for some reason).

<-- To K'Zan, Selenya, and Spec the Damned only -->
Everyone closes their eyes moments before the tip of Selenya's staff lets out a brilliant light that illuminates the room. You can see everything around you now, but your surroundings seem even more alien than before. Wha you stand in is not the living room of a crumbling house, but some unfathomable place with seemingly no dimensions. Everything around you is an even shade of off-purple, all in the same shade and brightness, making it impossible to gauge distance. You see no entrance nor exit.
A prime wizard? How quaint. I suppose you'll start searching for a dungeon and try to slay the dragon within, hmm? Ha!!!! calls out the voice, coming from an indeterminable direction You come for work to the great Lucius Ferrick? I shouldn't have expected more from such sods as yourselves. Now, why is it that I should hire you?
