Pretty sure that being in a public place would make litttle difference to the man who was following her, she prayed that Sseth would send some kind of blessing to her and him in someway. She headed into the building...or one of the buildings, her mind had no time to think about such things...

Ssertzah steps into the structure, and is immediately overwhelmed by the strong smell of garlic and alcohol permeating the room. At least a hundred people of different sizes, builds, and occupations pack the tavern. The main room seems to be centered about a gigantic cauldron set over a smoldering bed of coals at the center of the room. There doesn't seem to be a traditional bar, nor servants, though most people still appear to be drinking or eating. Passing through the room like a wayward shadow, Ssertzah glances around at the strange faces and races around her. Most appear to be human, though there are a sizeable population of people who are clearly... something else. A couple of tall, strongly-built, bearded demons are engaging in a fierce debate with each other, firmly gripping their barbed polearms. A small group of hunched over humanoids with thick, spiked shells are playing some sort of dice game over their meal. Right next to the cauldron, there sits... a snake? A very large snake, with a human face shaped like the blade of a knife. It has coiled itself around two stools, spilling the rest of its huge tail onto a nearby chair. It takes bites from a thick steak before it, shooting a sidelong glance to Ssertzah. It was not her kind, but it seemed to be the closest thing yet. She feels a voice within her head.
Heh... not a good place for one of you, yuan-ti.

Cursing at herself for getting noticed, she rushes out as quickly as she came in. Heading back towards the way she originally came. It was the only thing Ssertzah could think of.

The voice booms inside Ssertzah's head as she darts away from the serpentine creature.
You could try your luck with the soldier at the door, but I would hate to see another yuan-ti die down here. His friends are probably already combing this place for you. Hmm.... here they are now
As Ssertzah skirts around the edge of the bar and walks up to the elevated table section, she gets a glance at the front door. Three heavily armed men are looking over the crowd, the bald snake-tattooed man gritting his teeth behind him. The tattooed man's companions each draw a short, curved dagger from their belts and enter the crowd like skulking rats.

The tattooed man slips outside the building, seemingly content in the skills of his companions.
A large woman bumps into Ssertzah, tossing her to the side and clearing a fairly wide path behind her. Glancing into the opening before people converge to fill it again, Ssertzah sees one of the roughnecks, his dagger drawn and facing away from her.

Ssertzah hoped that this mental connection worked both ways. She tried just to think, and hope that the thought projected.
Perhaps you could be a little more helpful, and maybe give me an idea on what to do?
She keeps her hand on Pagua as she tries to evade the men by wading through the crowd long enough to think of a way out of this mess.

The voice sounded hollower than before. Sit with me, drink with me[/color]
The roughnecks continued their search through the crowd, but somehow kept on missing the area where Ssertzah stood. A powerful aura seemed to permeate through the room, slightly muddying your eyesight.

Hoping that this person's intentions were not as deadly as the mens, she began looking for the person.
I believe I will take you up on that offer.

Ssertzah walks through the crowd towards the tables on the perimeter. For some reason, she has a feeling that the voice originates from there. As she begins to enter the thick of the crowd, she notices that it was surprisingly easy to manuever this throng of people. Patrons stepped out of the way, clearing a path for Ssertzah as she walked by them, and then stepped back to their original positions. She might have simply attributed it to coincidence, but it was almost unnatural... it was too simple. Soon enough, she managed to work her way back to the last row of tables, coming face to face with the voice.
A long snake sat coiled around a pair of stools, splaying the rest of its tail between another chair. It's face... it's face was human, but still delicate and beautifully serpentine.
It pushed a chair towards Ssertzah with it's tail.

She quickly sits down in the chair and smiles. It felt slightly good to see someone with similar characteristics in thie world of wide diversity.

The creature takes a bite from the half-eaten steak on its plate. As Ssertzah sits, it curls its tail loosely around her ankle, almost as a playful gesture.
Now, my dear... who are you and what brings you and those Spectrum thugs to my lair?

I can't say too much about it. Mostly because I'm not in full understanding myself. But I'm in a search of Sseth, the Scaled Supereme. She says in a low voice, looking around still a little uncomfortable sitting down while there are people looking for her.

Excellent... said the creature's voice. His eyes seem to bore into your head, reading each and every secret encased in your mind. His black scaled body moved as one, extending his head closer to Ssertzah as he considered her face I am Faniel, and do not fear those nitwits, Ssertzah, servant of Sseth. They are not actually on the lookout for you, but for me. You see, all they are looking for is a very snake-like humanoid. Lucky for you, you drew them straight into my lair, where you are quite safe, at my discretion, of course. The question is, what do you feel is the value of my protection?
The creature's head moved slowly from side to side, a forked tongue teasingly darting between it's lips

Ssertzah's smile slowly fades. It seems like this one was just another person looking for a way to make a profit off of someone's situation. "I don't have much seeing how when I was abruptly transported here, I was left with literally nothing. Perhaps a couple jinx?" She didn't too much of a choice since he apparently had the power to lead them where he wanted to...including to her.

The creature snakes its neck around the perimeter of the table, bringing its face closer to Ssertzah's, so that its tongue barely brushes against her cheek as it darts in and out. Its tail constricts around her ankle slightly.
Money means nothing to me... It comes and goes like ash in the wind... power is everything here, and knowledge is the best form. The voice stops momentarily, and the creature runs its eyes over the features of Ssertzah's face and neck
Korachon interrogators like to ask one simple question to their subjects before starting their work. I will pose it to you: tell me why you deserve life, and why life deserves you. Its tongue darts out greedily, giving Sserzah a glimpse of an array of sharp teeth and two long fangs, Tell me why I shouldn't let those Spectrum thugs find you, commit all number of atrocities on your body and mind, and then skin you alive in the middle of this bar... I am most curious to hear your answer...
