I am so sick of people posting about their "hard lives", how they just want to sit in front of the computer all day, talk with people via IMs, play games and role play. How they expect other people (family and/or friends) to support them their whole lives, so they can do what they want to do, which is just sit and vegetate.
They whine because people are bugging them to get off their butts and get a job, make something of themselves....and they whine that people just don't understand them.
Well sorry, but I won't understand a person who refuses to get a job, then whines that they want others to take care of them. You're just a lazy bum!!!! Oooo, I'm writing a comic book, I can't work. Ooooo, I'm developing a new game, I can't work. Ooooo, I want to set up my own computer business, I can't work. But they expect others to support them in the meanwhile.
And let me tell you, many probably think I'm talking about teens, but I've talked to enough people in their 20's and 30's who arelike this. and I'm totally disgusted!!!

See, Greghoul and Sharess are examples of people who have responsibilities, and are taking care of themselves. Kudos to you both.
Sure, I get lazy sometimes, everyone does, but what I can't stand are those people who are on the internet or playing games 24/7....and get all b**chy that others are telling them to get off their duffs and get a job. These bums feel that the world owes them, and that everyone should just support them. Oh puh....lease. So you're writing the great novel.....whoopie, still no excuse to just sit around expecting everyone to take care of you while you just play PC games and chat on IMs all friggin day and night until you get an idea to write on. *sigh*

I know some of these very people, thank goodness I am no longer one of them... Used to be, but now I goto school 3 days a week, work 5 days a week (Tuesdays I work and goto school, ends up being anywhere between a 14 and 16 hour day by the time I get home), and then I am on the phone or chatting on IMs or hanging with a friends or two.

Xas, I think for the most part the "whiners" have failed to reply. And show up. Not that I even know who who is and whatnot, but it seems here to me everyone's pretty productive. Me personally? 5-day school week, occasional computer freelancing, mostly school work and stuff. Occasionally I work at the PNC arts center but I haven't been scheduled yet this year. I worked once alreayd, I just need to send in my schedule. So yeah, I try to keep myself productive. And not whiney, and honestly I don't think I've come upon a bad spot in a few months now... Everything's shaping up rather nicely in my life right now. n.n Ya notice, though, the month I went to Mary's was the month I stopped whining? Wonder why... >.> ((((((((((((((((LWW)))))))))))))))))))

Its a pretty American phenomenon, as far as my experiences have taught me. It comes from a lifetime of having other people do stuff for you and not being able to apply yourself. The entire concept is so absurd I'm not even going to bother stating my case.

Go ahead and state your case, you should anyways. It might provoke discussion or debate, and right now this forum sure could use some activity.

I am so sick of people posting about their "hard lives", how they just want to sit in front of the computer all day, talk with people via IMs, play games and role play. Hey, some of us don't have easy lives... I;ve been TRYING to get a job since December, but it seems even McDonalds doesn't want me Add that in with a family that is tearing itself apart, parents that wont let me be me, a death or four, a spiritual crisis, and the whole graduation thing at school ((change, good change, but change still)) ... and I've got a lot of turmoil going on about now.

It's the ones that don't even make the effort to try that tick me off the most. The ones that sit around all day, don't look at the employment ads, don't even go around to different places to place applications....and then have the nerve to cry that they couldn't get to the next level in the pc game they were playing for the past 2 days.
Then they get all bent out of shape when you rant on them to get off their butts, and GET A JOB!!!!!

*Points at his signature* No point in whineing about life... If it dishes you a hard blow laugh at how stupid that was and pick up the peices. Whinning alows humans to develop but only if you do something about it. Laughing about it will allow you to releive alot of the pressure from the past.
