Is it worth it? I like the idea. Is the game itself worth getting?

been wanting to respond to this for a while. Being a fan of war history, I got a serious kick out of blood on the rhine and it was fun watching how the allies invaded. their own spin on magic (via ruins) and the overall "weird" feel to it seriously rocks. Also the tech stuff is pretty groovy and well grounded on good research. Also like the "ghost tanks" and other such groovy stuff. The classes are solid and prefer them over the modern d20 equivelent. Plus the prestige classes made sense and were also solid. Also think the rules on war equipment and leadership are well done. However, I do have a few grumbles of this. 1. Why the heck did it start in 1944. While easily remedied, what would have been more fun if nazi's minions would have been more "wierd" to begin with. Also had a touch of jingoism that kinda rubs me the wrong way. 2. Wanted more of a connection between the weird west and weird wars. While the vehicles were historically accurate, they had no connection to the "mad science" that was used in the west, which was kinda disappointing. Still, it was pretty groovy idea. I am itching to try one of these games once we get through one of the half dozen games my group is involved in, which would start at 1939, poland. If you want other ideas, a great book was written by gurps called wierd wars, which was written by the same guy who did suppressed transmissions. A very good way to alter your campaign and make it yours. hmmm, think I'm going on a wierd wars shopping spree
