Tong Thug
The Chinese aren't treated well in the West. As a result, they look after their own. They organize themselves into defense groups in order to protect their own interests. However, these often become criminal organizations that often beat the smack out of their fellow man.
The Tong Thug is such a man. wearing a traditional chain shirt under long Chinese robes, they are experts at using their hatchet, striking their target and getting away. They have also adapted quite nicely to using guns in their control over "turf". While some may consider them protectors, most consider them little more then criminals and maniacs that are dangerous to all.
Variant Abilities:
Breaking Blow: When the Chinese tong obtains 2nd level Rowdy, Instead of Thick skin, the Chinese tong can select to take half his level to reduce the hardness of his target. It will never give a positive #, only reduce the hardness to 0.
Morning Gory: When the chines tong obtains 6th level Maverick, Instead of the bonus feat, the Chinese tong can select to strike with a manic glee. He gets +2 to intimidate checks when his hatchet is out. Additionally, once per day per two point of Strength, the Chinese tong can reroll one's rolled for damage done with the hatchet.
Sucker Slash: When the chines tong obtains 8th level Maverick, Instead of skill focus, the Chinese tong can select to be able to strike with his hatchet in a manner not unlike a sucker punch. Besides standard damage, it basically does the same affects as a sucker punch added on. However, if used as a sneak attack, they only get half of their normal sneak attack damage.
Recommended Feats: Acrobatic, Armor Proficiency (light), Athletic, Brave, Dinero, Grim Servant of Death, Improved Unarmed, Improved Initiative, Nerves o Steel, Point Blank Shot, Sand, Stealthy, Sucker Punch, The Stare. At the GM's sole discretion, the Tong Thug, can take martial art maneuvers from Oriental Adventures (R).
Common Skills: Bluff (Cha), Diplomacy (Cha), Demolitions (Int), Disable Device (Int), Forgery (Int), Gamblin' (Int), Gather Information (Cha), Hide (Dex), Holdout (Dex), Innuendo (Cha), Intimidate (Cha), Knowledge (tactics) (int), Listen (Wis), Move Silently (Dex), Open Locks (Dex), Pick Pockets (Dex), Ridicule (Int), Sense Motive (Wis), Spot (Wis).
Common Equipment:
Chainmail shirt (see Core Rules 1: Pages 104-105) is traditional, but it is being zoned out by the bulletproof vest. They often carry a Hatchet in their sleeve, but some Tong Gangsters prefer using ancient chines melee weapons (basically almost any weapon in core rules 1 can be made "chines" and used.", long Traveling robes (+2 to holdout checks), A firearm of choice (usually a pistol) and ammunition.
