Has anyone here actually run a campaign of Conan under the GURPS rules? I was nafting through my old files and low and behold, a dusty copy of a GREAT looking game, that I actually never ran because of time constraints and I wondered if anyone of you have given it a whirl.?
From the outside looking at it, it seemed to actually handle the lack of active magic and the way the gods interacted with man beautifully, but I would really like to hear what others have experienced with it. GURPS, after all, is THE premo-researched packages of this type and I'm really surprised to see that it isn't getting far more attention in these forums.

Dude, I was involved a gurps conan game a long time ago, and played a renegage hyperborean assassin.
He rocked!!!
GURPS Conan is one of my favorites of GURPS and say what you want of the system, but they always do their homework.
Best researched book ever.

GURPS Conan is one of those that I always wanted to do. I'm glad to hear that you had a good time with it. It surely seems, just from reading through it, that they nailed the setting far better than any other RPG company ever did.
The TSR Conan boxed set, for instance, was perhaps the single worst product I saw come out of TSR. And that takes some saying as other than D&D, they really produced a load of dogs.

You asked if anyone actually ran a GURPS Conan game and I have run two campaigns of it already. I'm going to be running another one in two months with my friends. The world is awesome...heroic, yet gritty. Out of all the many gaming worlds I have ran games in, my players all agree that my Conan game was my best.
The odd thing is that, other than the movies and the GURPS Conan book, I don't know much about Conan. There is just so much good information in the book that I have never needed to look elsewhere.
