Arin's mind boggled. Every thought of righteous fury and determination. Before primal fear took over completly took over, his old hunters instinct gave him a glimmer of hope.
Keep praying, he told himself, it is said that the demons can sense the impurity in your soul. Now, slowly back away, making good use of the cover. Keep yourself down, lowly and silently. See those wings? You can't run away. See how the beast delights in massacring the screaming victims that flee from it. Soon it will attack the warriors, who are a small threat to it. Not you, not the quiet ranger skulking away. See, this is just like avoiding Ragnasaurs back home on Jormunguand. Remember those things, all towering muscle and teeth? Remember? Now, just like you used to. Towards the vehicles, your own lines, the buildings, the nearest safe zone.
These thoughts running over and over in his mind. Arin began his stealthy withdrawal. By the Emperor, if I'm so lucky as to make it out of this mess alive, I'll think twice about the heroics.

The Daemon looks over towards were arin was the smaller Daemons were gathering around it the rest of the Imperial Guardsmen had just secured their own lines and were preparing to open fire. The Salamander marine had taken command and now was barking orders at the men. The Greater Daemon took a slow step towards Arin and raised its whip to crack him in half like a small rag doll.
However it turned and by the time it realized what was about to happen to it, it was too late. The battle cannon had fired on it and heavily wounded the beast. All the creatures immediatly around it died in the horrifying power of the Tank. The Daemon host army began to march towards the Guardsmen using fear as their cover...

The cold fingers of terror were creeping toward Gunter, as he saw Daemon host approach the Guardsmen's barricade. He looked around to his new friends, but saw none of them.
Arin has gone somewhere...
Diego was retreating toward the Chimeras...
He was alone...
Realizing, that if he will continue to wait for Daemon host to crush him and other remaining Guardsmen, he will be crushed by fear far sooner then by Darmon host, Gunter rushed into action, while he still wasn't frozen by fear.
Gunter's left hand took hold of one of his frag granades, as Gunter's righ hand still held his trusty bolter.
"For the Emperor!" shouted Gunter, as he jumped from beghind the Guardsmen's barricade and rushed toward the Daemon host, shoting wildly at approaching Daemon.
Then, Gunter realized that his warcry was meaningless now, and shouted "For Terra!"
Once Gunter get to the close distance from Daemon host, he thrown his frag granade at approaching Daemons, and then qucikly drawn and thrown his other frag granade, hoping to scatter approaching Daemons.
Then Gunter quickly turned around, and ran back toward the Guardsmen's barricade, silently praying to God-Emperor, that he would reach the Guardsmen barricade, before Daemons will catch him...

'I'm ...alive' gasped Arin, shocked, then elated as he overdosed on adrenaline. 'I'm alive! EMperor be praised!'
He had just seen a creaure of infitite evil and power crushed by good old human ingenuity. He decided it would be best to make for the Salamander Marine, as his good leadership skills would help hold the line. Aware that he had no ranged weapon, he carried a frag grenade in each hand. One was to clear a path to the others, the other was in case he attracted unwelcome attention.
Pulling out the pin with his teeth, Arin hurled his first at the attack demonhost as he made his way to friendly lines, believing that in the frenzy for combat they wouldn't turn around to attack someone who was hurling a grenade behind them.

The daemon's charge was more then swift enough to avoid the grenades... They were small armour peircing grenades not wide spread havok weapons. However as Gunter's cry rings out it inspires new courage in the Guardsmen and the reform their lines and cry out in a similar way.
"For Terra!"
And the air was alive again with the sounds of las-fire. The greater Daemon again was taking the brunt of the fire and barly being slowed.... This time it was prepared for the battlecannon and its axe got in the shell's way; predetinating it son only flames reached the powerful creature and they only redoubled it's fury... The lascannons almost all harmlessly glance off its hide aside from one which takes the creature in the shin... Not enough to kill it... but enough to slow its advance...
The Chimera's were nowere to be found... Anywere... They had moved out to swiftly deploy the Stormtroopers and now none of the transports could be found anywere.
All four of the space marines were up on the front line now... The Grey Knight, Blood angel, and Ultramarine all on the front line ready to give their lives for Humanity... A different battle cry rang up from the Ultramarine first... and swiftly the other three adopted it.
"For Human Kind!"

Whether it was divine intervention of God-Emperor, or the sheer luck, but Gunter managed to reach lines of Guardsmen, before Daemons caught him. Once again surrounded by comrades, Gunter turned around to the approaching Daemon host once again, ready to continue the bloody fight. Gunter drawn his sword, and switched his bolter in rapid-fire mode.
"For Human Kind!" shuted Gunter, firing bursts of fire into approaching Daemon host, and waiting for the first Daemons to come within reach of his sword...

Thankful that he had not been intercepted, Arin, stood with his comrades, lifting his power sword, the weapon of the traitorous marine now ready to resume it's original, pure, purpose. No battle cry issued from his lips, only a wry smile. He had looked into the face of death and returned again to fight by his comrade's side.

((Shura if it were up to me you would be dead... But you both move at the same speed so I can't have my way... JK man but you would be dead. ;D ))
The Chaos Daemons moved to make their final aproach they were organized for the charge and at this distance... With their number superiority all seemed at a loss at this point... The Khornate bloodletters lifted their swords howling into the dirty sky.
It was at this moment that the Chimera's rolled around the corner with their guns blazing... The Daemons were only metres away and now with their flanks exposed and being exploited they milled about eachother in confusion being shot down by the Chimera's...
The Greater Daemon turned away from the Daemon packs and began towards the Armoured Vehicles and the Storm Trooper's lines. The elite warriors poured out of the tanks and all aimed at once with bolters rather then their traditional hellguns and prepared to mow down the beast of chaos...
The rest of the Daemons looked towards the Guardsmen lines and Charged. Many of the Guardsmen surprised them with frag grenades and made a counter charge against them attacking with combat knives or blades on the tips of their guns.

As Daemons charged towards the Guardsmen lines, Gunter quickly shifted his bolter into his left hand and his sword into his right hand, and then joined the rest of Guardsmen in their countercharge. With no more frag granades left, Gunter met Demons' charge with cold steel of his sword and hot fire of his bolter...

((This was the last thing I expected to happen )) The two men in combat go unscathed for a short period of time as there are enough other guardsmen around to keep the Daemons buissy. The Space Marines had joined the men in combat and took Daemons in single combat rather then in pairs or trio's as most of the guardsment were doing... Arin found two daemons lieing dead at his feet through sheer luck... Gunter had proudly managed to fell another individual... The guardsmen around them were dropping fast but the casualties they inflicted on the Daemons was ballencing it out...

Gunter was covered by multiple wounds, by the time he brough down one of the Daemons. The Guardsmen around him were falling, but Daemons' numbers were diminishing as well.
Gunter heard a loud roar, and saw another Daemon advancing toward him. Gunter attempted to fire a burst of fire at advancing Daemon, but the loud click was all he could get from his Bolter. After the long use, Gunter's Bolter has finally jammed.
Angrily, Gunter put his now useless bolter back into his holster, and tightened his grip on his sword. Killing this Daemon is goign to be much harder for Gunter, then killing the first one...
"I can use a bit of help with this one!" shouted Gunter, hopping that at last one of his fellow Guardsmen will assist him in killing this Daemon...

Arin noticed his distress, and swung left and right, clearing the ground between them enough for him to make a daring leap, bring down his two handed powersword on the deamons back, as it's spine was shorn in to, Arin grinned up at Gunter ebfore taking up a defensive stance at his side.
'We can take them on as a team' he advised, 'and cover each other when we attack. We'll stand a much better chance of pulling though and maybe even breaking up their line, though I doubt these things of chaos know fear.'

The Guardsmen threw themselves on the Daemon hordes one last time and the creatures were shaken by this last assault. They began to shiver as they tried to fight and keep their bodies in the real world... They failed and the creatures just seemed to disapear into heated smoke all around the guardsmen... It came to light when the fighting was cleared that the greater Daemon had fallen and with that the creature's moral had fallen signifigantly... The remaining guardsmen were battered, beaten, or dead... The mighty blood angel had fallen in the thick of the fighting... The other marines said a breif prayor before the ranking marine; The ultramarine Terminator took the initiative and signaled the Chimera's to return.
"Men we still have a job to do... No time for rest... Those that cannot be saved will be left... The dead will be ritualy cremated to prevent Chaos from trying to recall their souls through the dead. Now move out!"
Typical heartless space marine thinking it was... But it was logical... The chimera's moved up and loaded the remaining guardsmen up. After the bodies of the dead were piled and set aflame by those guardsmen carrying flame throwers.
