Passing on the Five Great Techniques

(OOC: This is a semi-oriental styled RPG about Five great Masters of Martial Arts wish to pass on their respective styles and techniques. But to do this the must hold a tournament to find the most apt pupils to teach. Preferred levels will be about 4-7, with mostly fist fighters although swords and oriental weaponry is allowed. Magic exists in this world, but this will mostly concentrate on Ki/Chi/Chakra abilities. You are allowed to be Specialized in one style or proficient with two. Martial Arts that exist IRL are available, but if you have a personal Martial Arts style I ask that you PM me with its philosophy and general look of it. PM me for questions.)

Quite a crowd had gathered to take part in the great tournament, with Martial Artists and Warriors from all over the twelve continents coming to comepete for a chance to learn the Masters' techniques. Among the crowed stood a young man of at least 17, his lanky yet muscular build spoke volumes of his dedication to form. His dress was of a traditional black Gi with red border, the Kanji for Shadow was proudly worn upon it's back. His long, red headband trailed in the breeze, his name "Daerkon" proudly on his brow as he spoke with a young man of similiar build. "So what your saying is that my Rui-Chong Quan style is similiar to the Shaolin style in pose, but differs in philosophy?" the other young man noded his head, "Yes my friend, while your style emphasizes the use of Ki as a weapon, the Shaolin style stresses it's use as a harmonizing tool. That is how it is so easy for us to predict blows." Daerkon smiled and nodded his head,"I look forward to facing you in the tournament." Bowing, he walks off looking for other interest people amongst the crowd.

Another young man, of around 19, overheard this and introduced himself to Daerkon, he wore the traditional orange Shaolin sash but his hair was not traditional, it was spikey and blonde, and he himself was obviously not of Chinese origin. Your earlier conversation had caught his attention.

"Greetings." He said with a short bow "I could not help over hear your talk of the Shoalin school, and I myself have been trained in the Northen Chinese mountins, Black Tiger style. You see, Shaolin is not really a style, its a school of teaching with many different styles. Black Tiger, for example, is very much more focused on footwork than other Shaolin styles. Tell me about... 'Rui-Chong Quan'?"

Daerkon ran his hands through his hair and smiled, "Rui-Chong Quan is a style of Kung Fu, a derivative of the Chaolin style created by a small woman many centuries ago. The main idea is to go with the flow and use your opponent's force to defeat him, though some of it's techniques speak otherwise," He laughed and shook his head."Though I am no Master, I chose to travel and learn another style called Kirigakure Ninjutsu. It is very fast and very deadly, but using the two i have developed powerful techniques utilizing the two."

Over the crowd could be heard the voice of Masashi Jingei, Master of Water. "All those who are to compete in the tournament please follow me, as you come to the door watch the gem above it closely. If it does not change to red then you must leave imediately. Follow me." Daerkon smirked and walked with the crowd, luckily he and the other were close to the door. As a result they were among the first to walk through, Daerkon sighed as he passed through the door.

~I have heard of those jewels... they can sense a person's spirit energy and will change color if a person is strong enough, I thought I might not make it...~ He grinned tightened his arm wrappings in anticipation.

"Ahh yes, now Ninjitsu is something I do know. I beleive an old friend of mine headed away to learn it in." The other young man said as Daerkon spoke. And then made his way into the line that was developing.

Stepping through the door his already wide smile became broader as the gem turned a bright crimson. His years of training had not dulled his enthusasiasm for fighting which showed in the fires burning in his eyes. He came into a small courtyard in which a few had made it, the other side was adorned with five thrones and in each sat on of the Masters.
