(OOC: This is a Mage Fair, a place where Mages and soon-to-be Mages come to Play, Associate, Share, and have fun. All levels below 36 are welcome, with all races and magic users welcome as well. I ask that no Munchkinism happen and that we all try to keep it as civil as possible (Duels are allowed, just approach a Ward Wizard for permission and arena reserval.) Demonstrations on all types of Magic will run rampant and above all else: Expect the Unexpected!)
Turanis sat beneath a cherry blossom tree, eating a turkey leg as he watched everyone walk around. The air was filled with exitement as Mages demonstrated new spells, innovative uses for old spells, and new ways to cast them. Every once in a while he would notice an Older Mage approach a young Mageling and ask him questions, smiling at their answers and occasionally leaving with them. He nearly choked as a rampant Fireball shot into the air and detonated spectacularly, raining down little multi-colored motes of light that many children present attempted to catch. Shaking his head and sending his silvery hair tumbling about his shoulders, he leaned back leisurely against the tree’s warm bark as it’s blossoms fell to the earth. Their delicate aroma floated into his nostrils, leaving their sweet and calming scent to fill his mind.

A young Elf was practising casting fireball. "That wasn't supposed to have happened" she wailed as she ran in the direction she shot it in. It then exploded "If that hit anyone i'll be in so much trouble!!!"
"I need a break!" She shouted back to the group she was standing with.
She stopped suddenly and climbed up in to the nearest tree and sat amongst the branches and grabbed a handful of blossom, tossed it in to the wind and sighed deeply. "You had to screw it up again didn't ya Leona!" she said to herself.

Turanis smiled as he heard someone above him chastist themselves, it seemed to be an elven woman from the timber and accent. He opened his eyes as his smile turned to a laugh when the blossoms covered his head. "Magic is a funny thing Little Elf, Mages spend their whole lives in pursuit of perfection when it is the little quirks that make it so... beautiful." he gently brushed the petals from his white robe's mantle and continued, "I have been around for almost three hundred years and I have yet to find someone with complete control. That Fireball was a work of art, even though it was an accident. I especially liked the sparkles, the children seemed to enjoy it as well as some elders." He stood up and looked into the tree, spotting the Elven woman. Without a word he floated up to her eye level and gave her a kind, yet appraising look. "I am looking for a couple of apprentices at the moment... perhaps you should spend the rest of the week here at the fair with me. Then I can decide if you would make a good addition to my home." He extended his hand, in it was an circlet with a clear crystal glowing at it's heart.

Leona was just about to throw another handful of blossom to the wind when she heard a voice from below her "Whoa...erm hello, oh sorry about that." As he floated up and looked at her she smiled nervously. "I'd be glad to. Most of my friends are apprentices now. I was startin' to think that my quirks, were putting people off me." She gazed at the circlet in his out stretched hand. "That is beautiful."

Turanis smiled, "Yes, it is beautiful. It was made by my Master centuries ago, it let him know where I was and my emotional state." He floated foreward and gently placed on her head, muttering a few words and touching the gem as he did so. It glowed for a moment and gently hummed, then it went silent and sat sparkling on her brow. "It also lets you teleprt to my location thrice a day, as well as letting you float about as you please." He looked at her for a long moment with his sparkling violet eyes, "It suits you well... Leona." Just then a small Lightning Pixie alit on his shoulders and giggled, "This is my Familiar, Trinita" He said his eyes full of laughter.

He looked confused for a moment as Trinita giggled, he looked at her funny. "Quite enough Trin, you know i get distract with women." The smile came back to his face, "I am Turanis Altaine, Mage of Cormanthyr and Archmage Arcane." He laughed kindly as a few children pointed at him seemingly talking to a tree. He muttered something softly and flicked his wrist, sending cherry blossoms whirling about the children as the cried out with joy. An almost sad look entered his eyes, "I love children, though i have none of my own... maybe someday." He turned back to her and smiled, "They have almost everything at this fair and I don't have to be anywhere 'til sundown. Where would you like to go?"

He laughed, "No, not really. There is a place for excellent noodles at the end of this row. Past the Shadow magic tent and before Aurora's Magical Toy shop." He took her hand and floated down the row, barely an inch above the ground. He stopped suddenly at a robe shop and looked at Leona. He suddenly went in, calling for her to come in and look around. He poped from behind a rack, "Choose two or three, I'm buying since your my guest. Besides you'll need one if your to accompany me to the Archmage Ball tonight..." He flashed another grin and disappeared behind another rack.

~I'm floating oh my..~ she smiled as they moved around.
She followed him in to the shop. "I'm going to the ball!" she beamed ~wow~ She looked about there were so many types and colour ~go for a simple robe, nice colour she though to herself~ As she looked she couldn't help but notice a robe that almost matched the colour of Turanis' eyes perfectly and an equally beautiful midnight blue and then there was a plain green one. "They're beautiful!" she said a little louder than she had hoped. ~i don't know which one to choose. I don't want to keep him waiting. arrg~ She picked up the green one ~play safe? not too expensive but not exactly ball material~ She picked the robes up and went over to Turanis "erm i don't know which to choose, which would you prefer?" She said almost whispering ~God he must think i'm so pathetic. I can't even choose a robe~

He smiled as a youngster ran by, noticing he was as tall as the kid. Leaning against the tree, the half-elf examined the area to himself, red-silver hair blowing in the wind. He jumps forward as a ray of enfeeblement flew by, and looks at the caster. He decides to practice some magic, and grins widely, his more playful side taking a little hold of him. He casts Tasha's Uncontrollable Hideous Laughter, the reciever begging to giggle as he ran off. He watches him fall to the ground in laughter after about a minute. He smiles and sits on the ground.

Turanis jumped as Leona came up, he had been absorbed in watching a young man erupt in laughter outside the window. Turning about he saw Leona's expression and felt her doubt, "They are all beautiful, you should get all three. I told you my treat and I'm no pauper!" He smiled and paid the plump woman behind the counter for the gowns. He folded the gently and placed them in a bag at his hip, winking as he led Leona out of the shop and further down the row. He stopped at a large tent and walked in, the Oriental decor making him stop for a moment. Shaking his head in mirth he sat down and motion for her to do the same. He turned to a small boy dressed in a cute little gi, "Little Warrior, I would like the Mou goo gai Pan and some Miso soup." He looked at Leona expectantly.

Leona sat down and smiled at the boy "Chow mein and salad please." She looked around the tent it ~hmm i haven't seen this tent before, but then again i probably wouldn't have been able to afford.~ She gazed in to nothing still trying to come to terms with how nearly blowing something up has led to being asked to be an apprentice, having new robes bought and now sat in a really nice tent about to have something to eat. She sighed and then laughed to herself

It's a mage fair, so I can...
He smiles and looks at a tent flap, which happened to be the tent Leona and Turanis had just entered. The wind blew the flap open, so he was concentrating on the item behind the flap, which was the bag on Turanis's hip. He jumps up just as his mark appears on the bag. He hits himself on the head and begins to walk in their direction.

Turanis shook himself out of a momentary trance when he caught himself... staring at Leona. When she laughed he smiled and started diging in his bag, laughing he pulled out several items... A Broadsword, A set of scrolls, A few wands, and a Grimoirum Arcanourum (Boccob's blessed book.) Upon finding the book he slid the others back in and opened the book. Thumbing through it he found what he was looking for, sighing he absorbed himself in memorizing a spell for a few minutes as the food was being cooked. When the servers brought out the food, he handed the boy the money and a little extra. He smiled at Leona and set the book aside, foregoing all thought of manners he dug in to the Moo Gou while Trinita ate the Miso.
