All is quiet in the village of Streamside. Nothing moves except the occasional owl or cat intent upon the fat mice that plague the grain bins.
Suddenly in the darkness several figures move furtively headed towards the mayors house. Their hoods are up and faces shaded, their manner suggests mischief and mayhem afoot. Silently the group approaches the mayor's door, stealthy they affix some long thick boards to the door frame. As they work several of them gesture back and forth with one much smaller than the others, that one seems to be in charge. It is almost as if they were talking with their hands.
Note: The following conversation is in sign language.
"Gar are you sure this will work?"
"I'm sure for the 1000th time"
"I didn't think the mayor had gained THAT much weight"
"I tell you he brushed both side of the door last week"
"You think he'll get stuck?"
"Probably not, but I want to see his face when he tries to go out his front door, and has to turn side ways because he is so fat"
"that's what happens when a halfling mayor takes over a gnome house for back taxes instead of waiting for the grain harvest."
End sign language
You stifle a giggle, for it is you and your friends who are pulling this prank upon the mayor, the venerable Mayor Proudwaist, and it was Gar's uncle in who's house the mayor now resides. Garnet Glimmerspark is a gnome, your friend, and the intellectual of the group. Gar for short, he thinks everything needs a plan, and his happier delving into his grandfathers library than tracking imaginary monsters in the woods with the rest of the group. Gar's parents are dead, killed in a flood years ago, Gar's uncle has gone adventureing trying to raise money to reclaim his house, and Gars grandfather died unexpectenatly last spring. As a result Gar has the library to his self, but is spending more time with the group then he used to simply because he has no one else right now.
Quietly you finish your task, the boards, stained to resemble the present door frame, are coated on one side with a sticky resin that Gar concoted out of a recipe he found in the library. It stunk to high heaven during the cooking process but has no odor now. It readily adheres to the door frame. Leaving the frame a whole 4 inches narrower. This should be quite a spectacle in the morning.
Note: please introduce yourself.
DM invite this game is open if more would like to join in. Please read the brainstorm thread, post a character there and come on in. Also post any questions in the brainstorm. I will be checking and updating on a daily basis at least.
