"Yarr! I be a dwarf pirate. Blackbeard be me name. Make fun o' me beard and I be forced to keelhaul ye."
I'll let the others work out the specs. "I just drive the things, I don't know what makes them work" -Oddball, Kelly's Heroes (which is interesting... a good movie though)

11 knots is actually an absolute rocket for any sailing ship pre 19th century. Heck, even clippers rarely got up over 15 knots and they were used in the 20th century. Helps having like seven masts.
Anyway, I know you weren't complaining, Heh.
Just as a point, this world does not have galleon era ships. They are just too modern and would really skew things. Plus, without cannons, a galleon would be pretty much unsinkable without magic, and even then it would take a really long time. Even a straight up galleon has a harness of 14. Would take forever to beat through that hull. With six hundred hull points, combat would take days to resolve. Not going to happen.
Keep it Carrack era or earlier please. Note, depending on what you come up with, it is debateable whether or not the ship can be constructed in Mithril. You may have to go hunting for a better shipwrite.

when i have the time and bordness to do it i'll do up a few sample ships to show the options, just give me a few ship lengths you think we should stick to and i'll come up with a few designs, or at least specs using the above notes.

Well, ship length isn't really important. A Great Galley is longer than a Great Carrack, but is about 600 years behind. I would think that price is going to be the main determiner. Do a quick google search and you'll get the looks of any of the ship types. My point was just that you're not going to have galleon era ships. And the fantastic ships don't exist either. (At least, I'm not using them currently)

lol i just needed one set variable to i could create some sample ships as examples only and length is the key factor in these calculations
