Linus laughed heartily and punched the air slightly.
"Okay... I can't promise anything though..." he grinned roguishly, absently rubbing his arm where she hit him - she had quite a punch.
He looked slightly stunned as she kissed him on the cheek, a stupid kiddish grin spreading boyishly on his face, his heart skipping a beat, before hefting his bag on his shoulder and running to catch up with Helen, slipping his arm around her waist before they entered. "May as well get into character..." he said innocently, gazing at her.

Linus got out of the jeep and looked over at the Racoon Forest - what had really happened there? What the hell were Umbrella doing there? Or what had they done there?
The Hacker nodded slowy at Helen's words, barely taking them in, before shaking his head and smiling. With any luck, this place sold alcohol, and he could do with a beer. He fished his bag out of the jeep, his single bag - as he hadn't had chance to pack for anything else - and followed Helen into the hotel.
"How we going to do thos?" he asked before they entered. "I mean... are we on vacation? We game hunting? Are we a couple?" he grinned and winked at her, the teasing nature creeping back. "Personally I like the latter." He grinned again, a soft twinkle in his eyes.

"I know." He stated simply "...and I haven't completely made up my mind about some things yet..."
He glanced back at his laptop to see how the search was going, before speaking up again. "Seems like most of what science is for is war... they'll turn anything they can into something to be used as a weapon... A cure for cancer'll be turned into a weapon some how... Stupid Bastards."
He sighed longly... glancing at Helen sheepishly.
"Sorry... Stuff like that is one of the things that get me riled up... hearing about this war, famine, terrorists... it's rediculous...
"Anyways... screw it... lets get this over with." He flashed a grin at Helen and tocked away at his laptop, searching deeper for B.O.W.'s and writing various notes down.

Linus forced himself to not stare at Helen in disbalief. MI5, MI6, Biological warefare... it sounded like a Bond movie!
A Bond movie that he was in, because somebody needed him. All that time he got yelled at for being on the computer too long, his parents moaning that he'd never become anything. Ha. He'd shown them. The MI5 needed him.
"You've sold me Helen." Linus said, thinking that maybe he shouldn't wind her up as much as he was going to.
"Nothing like screwing over large multi-national corporations really is there?" he grinned, while running a search for "biological organic weapon" on his laptop.
"This... could get interesting..." he mused silently, the jovial front masking his slightly worried interior. B.O.W's, Mutants, God only knows what else was there...
"Makes you wonder why the hell man decides to play God..." he muttered to himself.

Linus smiled slightly, glad she did actually tell him and was going to cooperate with him... hopefully anyways.
He pushed aside the thought of the BOW's for a second. Zombies... sounded a bit too much like fantasy for his liking. He wanted actual facts first.
"Where does Trent come into this then?" he asked simply.

(OOC: I'm guessing that this is AFTER the first 3 books at least? Yell/kick me if I'm wrong))
Linus forced a smile, still incredibly gutted that he had been discovered. He let out a small sigh and pushed it aside, mentally noting this other propersition.
"Right... Racoon... Everyone somehow has heard about there being two explosions near Racoon, that mansion, and that underground place - most people know anyways... the type that... uh..." he looked around shiftily, fidgting, "Have... special access... look... I hacked into a couple of things and found some bare details, it was a few years ago, I wasn't as good then and almost got caught.
"Anyways... what the hell happened there? Some of the stuff I read hinted at monsters, Trent sent me some file, hold on I think I have it..." he opened the file he had wisely put on his laptop before leaving his apartment, "About some... virii? That Umbrella made... What were Umbrella doing there?"
Linus tocked away absently at his computer, still browsing for various Umbrella related incidents, wanting to know as much as possible about this.

Linus watched Helen with puzzlement as she searched the jeep, nodding slowly as she explained it all to him. He laughed inwardly, by the sounds of things she wouldn't really care if he screwed Trent over.
"Shi... What!?" he exclaimed, forgetting that if he suprised to too much while driving they were likely to crash. "Jeesus.... How the hell did you know it was me?! There was no way that you should have been able to trace me... unless... wait 46...?
Linus slammed his head back against the headrest. "God. Damn. I am going to kill Jeremy." he half turned to Helen. Remind me never to hack when drunk... That could have been the only time you'd have caught me... HAS to be..." He placed the index finger and thumb on either side of his nose and closed his eyes. "Linus... you idiot..."
He looked up at her sheepishly, "Sorry... being traced is not something any hacker wants to hear." He cursed himself over and over. MI5... MI-Goddammed-5 he was screwed, she was gonna blackmail the hell out of him... then what?
"So... what does the MI5 bigwigs want with me then?
"And how much DO you know about Racoon?" He asked making sure he had that answer, his fingers already flying across the keys to try and find newspaper articles, news feeds, internal transcipts, discussions or anything about Racoon. He wanted to know what to expect there. Chances are, whatever was there was probably still there, or might have left nasty surprises to stop something like what the two of them were going to do.

Linus smiled, glossing over the smack in the face threat, as he got his mobile fone out and moden uplink.
"Right then..." he said after about ten minutes of travel, he took a deep breath, no point in beating round the bush. "... Helen... what do you know about this mission besides what Trent told us? Because frankly I don't trust the emotionless S-o-B as far as I can throw him.
"What do you know about this Racoon City? And you may as well tell me cause I'll find out some way or another."
He connected to the internet, the harsh beeping of his modem filling the jeep.
He looked at her with a sheepish look on his face. "Sorry for being so blunt, but frankly - from what I've heard of Umbrella this whole assignment is dodgey and I want to know what to expect."

"Thats what satellite navigation is for.. so you don't have to study the maps the night before." He said, mock exhasperation in his voice.
He jerked his hand away at her touch, putting them up in by his sides to show he wasn't going to cause any damage.
"If I behave myself?" he thought to himself, stifling a laugh. "And if I don't behave myself, are you going to spank me and send me to bed with no supper." he said in a slightly squeaky voice fluttering his eyelashes.
"Well..." he started cooly in reply of her outburst. "Careful Linus.." "What I meant was - you said I tinker with this baby..." he patted his laptop, "...because if I wasn't so dammed good we wouldn't get this mission finished would we?
"And you tinker with... your guns and... crap... - because we wouldn't get anywhere without that now would we?"
He glanced at his screen and tocked in the username and password quickly, his hands skimming the letters.
"Helen - seriously, lighten up a bit... you're taking everything I say a bit too seriously." he flashed her a smile. "Now are we gonna go or just sit in this car park all day?"

Linus grinned and clamboured aboard the vehicle alongside Helen. "Tinker?" he said, in mock disgust. "Helen I do not tinker with this machine, much the same as I can imagine you do not tinker with whatever the hell it is you tinker with, I create things with this..." he cuddled it close to his chest as if it were a child. "I create an art so many people do not undertsand." he glanced at her and grinned, quite proud of his melodramtic performance.
He changed his tack quickly, "A thousand quid says I drive this baby before this little excursion is over."
"I'll even show you how to use the satellite navigation... If the thing has one..." he glanced around the dashboard running his fingers over the interior, absently flipping open his laptop and flicking it on.

Linus zoned out on the flight across the Atlantic, watching the inflight movie, listening to stuff on his iPod, trying to drown out the Pet Shop Boys he could hear from Helen's music player with some heavier metal. He didn't mind softer stuff, but he needed to be psyched for this mission.
Linus silently let Helen deal with the authority part of it and folowed silently as they were led out to the parking lot.
He gaped at their ride. "hmm,.....Trent must want to impress you." he heard Helen say and he silently agreed. She had jumped in the front before he even thought about "suggesting" he'd drive.
He stowed his stuff in the boot, all except his laptop. "No chance of me driving then?" He said, letting a note of disappointment creep into his voice. "After all... you know... women drivers and all..." he grinned teasingly, hanging by the passenger side door, holding it open - wondering how far he could push he before she got really annnoyed at him. This trip was probably going to be quite fun.

Linus took Trent's hand hesitantly - almost expecting it to be cold and lifeless " After all... he does seem like an emotionless bastard." Linus mused mentally. He was almost relieved to feel warmth in the Umbrella op's digits. " Pleased to be onboard Trenty." He grinned, a mischiviously glint in his eye. " Well then people... lets get started." Linus said with a masked enthusiasm. He just wanted to be out of here. Quicker he could get away, the quicker he could do some furtling. He loved his mobile modem with his laptop. He needed to get onto the internet. Trent was dodgey - and Linus needed some help - outside of Umbrella. " I have a cunning plan." He mused to himself and stifled a laugh. Blackadder ruled. ((heh... yay for filler ^_^ Yup. I am indeedy Hey what you think of me new avatar by the way?))

If Linus had had a drink it would have currently been sprayed over Trent's painfully unemotional face."One hundred and fifty...." Linus spluttered, failing to keep his excitement under wraps. "Sounds good to me. You've sold me Trent." He said, more calmly, resisting the urge to call him Trenty again.
He winced internally, he didn't want to see that eager... but £150k for a job that sounded so easy, how could he refuse?

"How did you know..." Linus started gaping at his plane ticket. "ugh.... nevermind."
Linus stood, and put his trecnh on with a practiced ease.
"Actually... I do have one more question. How much ARE we getting paid for this? It's unprofessional to work for nothing you know?" He grinned. The price had better be good, it wasn't too late for him to back out of this.

Linus smiled inwardly, Trent let his anger slip for a second, Linus saw the emotion flash in his eyes. Linus sighed to himself, the Umbrella puppet wasn't so immune to emotion like he made out. However he didn't want to push it. Therefore he waited till Helen and Trent had finished talking, nodding in all the right places, cringing slightly when Trent mentioned he would be under Helen's command, making a mental note of how to wind her up later.
"I'm all too willing to get my hands dirty Helen." He said nonplussed, witha shrug. Though he did notice a couple of open ended scenario's that could happen that he didn't like the sound of. He had heard the rumours certainly... but what was in Racoon City that was likely to stop them with their mission?
Linus smiled, he knew he had a deal of control over this conversation, Trent's anger and Helen's small stutter gave it away.
"Nope... I think I'm good... I'm in Helen's capable hands anyway." he grinned at her and winked. "I've got everything I need, except the plane tickets I think."
He smiled genuinely. This mission sounded interesting, and he was looking forward to it.
