And it ROCKED!!! In a major way. Everything a great action movie should be. Lots of action, little dialogue, simple plot, visually and aurally stunning. I give it two great big hairy gorilla thumbs up!!

For some obscure reason it got absolutely putrid reviews... just goes to show you how dumb critics can be!

Well, probably because it ain't exactly high art. It's an action movie. A total no brainer. There's about ohh 15 lines of dialogue in the whole movie. The rest is explosions, gun fights, chop socky fights, and other sorts of destruction and violence. Basically, it's a 2 hour finale for the last move. Put the two together and you have one really fantastic movie.
If you are going to see good acting and character development, well, look elsewhere. If you want a really cool battle scene that takes about two hours, then this is the movie for you.

Personally, I didn't care for it although it was better than the last one. I thought the movie was rushed in places glossing over stuff that might have made for a far more interesting plot (of which there was little).
They also could have touched on some of the ideas and pssibilities hinted to in the second movie. Not suprising that they didn't bother. Like the latest Star Wars trilogy they knew mony would come pouring in no matter what. So why try?
Im of the school of thought that says it is possible to have a kicking action movie with a escent plot.

Didn't they film both of these movies at the same time? They couldn't really know that they'd make so much with the second one.
Let's call it what it is. It's an action movie. I don't go to see action movies for deep involved plots. I just need enough plot to not make me go, "Why do I care". The second movie was basically all plot and no action. This was a finale to all the stuff they built up in the second movie. The scene where the squids break through into the big chamber was just visually stunning. And the sound was awesome.
Will anyone win an oscar for this. Not a chance. Will this set the standard for SF movies for quite some time? Most definitely.

I liked the Matrix movies over-all.
But I think they can be summarised thusly:
Confusing philosophy.
Cool fight scene.
Confusing philosophy.
Cool fight scene.
Repeat until you have three movies worth of footage.
