But eventually, after about a month of uneventful travels, Turanis, Turanis’ shield guardian, Rikkon, Rikkon’s bodyguard Val, Ramishi, Jabar and Jabar’s men arrived to yet another, quite large oasis.

The oasis is consists of three pools of water, each supplied by a subterranean spring, surrounded by rather large amount of trees and bushes. However, there is a perfect clearing for setting a camp in front of one of the pools of water.

Turanis, Turanis’ shield guardian, Rikkon, Rikkon’s bodyguard Val, Ramishi, Jabar and Jabar’s men arrived to this oasis when it was already an evening, and when it was getting cold quickly…

”I believe, that this must be the last oasis before the gods-forsaken place we are going into.” said Jabar gloomy, truth to tell, Jabar always sounded gloomy lately, but perhaps he had a good reason for that.

”If you have no objections, Lord Rikkon” continued Jabar gloomy ”I’d suggest that we stay here for a night before going ahead. I suspect, we have a few more days of travel before we will reach the gods-forsaken place we are going into.”

”Certainly, Jabar, I have no objections.” replied Rikkon ”We need to stay for the night somewhere anyway, and this place looks better then anything else, doesn’t it?”

”Certainly so, Lord Rikkon…” began Jabar gloomy…

But suddenly Ramishi interrupted Jabar…

”Lord Rikkon” said Ramishi ”I am very sorry to interrupt your conversation, but I though that you and Archmage Turanis Altaine would like to know, that I feel something very strange is going on in the desert around us, as if somebody used some kind of powerful magic… and the balance of the desert around us is disturbed, as if something very strange and alien came, or as if something changed the natural way of the things… I am very sorry, but I don't know how to describe it better…"

Ramishi remained silent for a few seconds, but then added, with a hint of accusing in her voice "May I ask you, Lord Rikkon and Archmage Turanis Altaine, did you performed any powerful magic today, or maybe yesterday?”

”Not me.” said Rikkon a bit angrily, probably because of the hint of accusing in Ramishi’s voice ”I don’t waste my magic unless there is a good reason for that, you know."

After saying so, Rikkon turned to Turanis and asked "What about you, Archmage Turanis Altaine?”

Turanis looked about for a long moment, "The Weave has been strangely warped and getting moreso as we go.... But no, I have not cast anything more powerful than a cleaning cantrip since we started."

Rikkon kept himself silent for about a minute, before he spoke again.

"The we better prepare ourself for the worst!" announced Rikkon finally "Whoever or whatever is doing this, I doubt that he, she or it, means us anything good! Set up a camp here, and be constantly on guard! Keep in mind, that we cannot rely upon any aid from afar, so we must rely only upon ourselves!"
