DSL doesn't require a second phone line either

Really? Gee, others I've asked about DSL said it was hooked up to the phone system....maybe they meant something else besides a phone line. Oh well, we're still happy with the cable modem.....lots better than the dialup we had.

Just ordered an internal DVD driver for the home PC, so Kaber can play a new Myst computer game. I have enough trouble getting him off IcewindDale.

DVD driver installed by our friend MH.....and I have become a Myst widow.
We also installed a router, so we have become a networked household.

Ahh.....Yes Myst, Riven, Myst Exile, The URU Chronicles and soon Myst Revelation. Who can resist such awsome games!!! Oh yeah and now I have joined the ranks of the 31337. Ok maybe thats pushing it but I have taken my first step into Networking!. That's right. Two laptops upstairs networked to our Desktop pc downstairs and all sharing our cable internet connection. Oooooooohhhhh. Is that kewl or what?! I must thank MH for the Linksys Router and Arjun for the cable and his networking skills. LWW did very well when we had to drill a hole in her cealing. She just closed her eyes and cringed. ........hehe, gotta love power tools, especially a drill with a two foot bit. It went pretty well. No wires were hit and we didn't end up with a hole in the middle of the floor upstairs. We could use some fastners for the cable but that will be delt with shortly. The most expensive item was the Nik cards we had to get for the Laptops. So Thank you all. You did great guys (You too LWW ) Now to figure out how I can access every computer on the net and take over the world...... Oh yeah, now I think I'll build a server. Have no idea what I want one for but I'm sure I'll think of something. (Modified to thank all those who put in their blood (Arjun) Sweat (MH) and tears (LWW).

This router thing is great. I can post on my forums, Kaber can play his online games, Mialee's in the chat rooms, and out son is doing homework (I hope). All at the same time, no interference, no dialup tying up the phone line, and nobody having to wait to get computer time........it's wonderful!!!!!
Then I went and got a brand new laptop from Dell, with a built in DVD player.......just spent Friday night at work watching CSI-Las Vegas (4th season). Man, it's a sweet deal......now I can watch all the DVDs I have at work.
*looks at Kaber* Why do we need a server? EDIT: man, I gotta learn how to close brackets.
